Re David Ryder: he has been involved with the Bluebell Railway, where his name is spelled Rider (see this link). Their website mentioned him having a "long-term illness" back in 2013, but no trace of him having shunted into the sidings as yet, so to speak. Left school in 1957, so born 1942 or so.

Entries can be submitted now. For those wondering how the list should be formatted/consideration for what picks could be considered there’s a rule page to check out. Good luck to everyone.

I really don’t understand the controversy behind forcing every participant who contributed to this as one of their teams. It’s really not realistic to force an estimate of around 40 participants to be a part of one DDP team, and really it would be unfair to the people who already submitted before I made this announcement to not allow one of their teams to go through because they voted for the Crowdsource list. The way I intend this team to happen is that nobody should have any responsibility because so many people will make a contribution to this, but if someone does have to take responsibility for this as one of their teams, I’ll take it 100% and sacrifice my B Team to have this go through. Now, if you don’t want to make a submission to me, that’s fine, but if you want to make a submission to me, please don't back out of this because you fear that it may take up one of your DDP team slots. I promise that definitely isn’t the case at all, and Spade Cooley will definitely confirm this.

At what point did they realise they were a smidge off course? Isle of Wight? Canaries? Cape Town? Jokes aside that looks hairy as hell.

Right, that's my 2019 Personal Shadowlist completed, it will be posted here in the New Year. At this point, I've kept 24 names from 2018, 26 "new" names replacing those I've dropped. Think that means I've entered everything except the DL Prediction Game (which I'll do a wee bit later in the month @Book).Unless I hear otherwise that it's going ahead, looks like the Hartlepool DP is out for me.

RIP Incredible that someone as famous and talented as her can be dead for 6 weeks before it is reported (yet reality TV stars get instant QOs).

Fox 2 Detroit (WJBK-TV) announced on air Thursday morning that meteorologist Jessica Starr has killed herself. In October, Starr received Lasik surgery for her vision and was out of work for several weeks, according to her Facebook page. She posted about dealing with dry eye and her frustration with recovery. Leaves behind hubby and two kids. SC

Took them a while but they bagged the shooter. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/12/13/shots-heard-in-strasbourg-after-tuesday-christmas-market-attack-police-operation-underway-.html Can't be 'properly' French. He didn't surrender.

BBC article on fending off aging. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20181211-how-science-and-medicine-could-cure-ageing "Millenials born after 1981 have a reasonable chance of reaching the age of 135" says one scientist.... what? 100 more years of this shit? (actually, I feel pretty good - I just wish I could stay in this shape for a while longer)

Since radio stations decided to pull “Baby it’s Cold Outside” from their playlists because someone was offended, I feel that these other holiday songs must also be removed as they are offensive as well. Do so immediately. 1. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus: subjecting minors to softcore porn and cheating on daddy. 2. The Christmas Song: Open fire? Pollution. Folks dressed up like Eskimos? Cultural appropriation 3. Holly Jolly Christmas: Kiss her once for me? Unwanted advances 4. White Christmas? Racist 5. Santa Claus is Coming to Town: Sees you when you’re sleeping? Knows when you’re awake? Peeping Tom stalker 6. Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Everyone telling you be of good cheer? Forced to hide depression 7. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Bullying 8. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas: Forced gender-specific gifts: dolls for Janice and Jen and boots and pistols (GUNS!) for Barney and Ben 9. Santa Baby: Gold digger, blackmail, hooker 10. Frosty the Snowman: Sexist; not a snow woman 11. Do You Hear What I Hear: blatant disregard for the hearing impaired 12. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas: Make the yuletide GAY? Wow, just wow 13. Jingle Bell Rock: Giddy up jingle horse, pick up your feet: animal abuse 14. Mistletoe and Holly: Overeating, folks stealing a kiss or two? How did this song ever see the light of day? 15. Winter Wonderland: Parson Brown demanding they get married…forced partnership 16. The Hanukkah song- I'm not Jewish, dont force your religion on others. 17. Grandma got ran over by a reindeer- promotes a hit and run..also I dont want my kid to think theres no such person.. All getting rediculous now

Loads and loads of good names mentioned in this thread already. Some better than others of course! Any unique picks not mentioned so far then that I would suggest? Looking at my own list from this year I can suggest: Timothy Dudley-Smith (b. 1926) - hymn writer Desmond Morris (b. 1928) - zoologist Lyndon LaRouche (b. 1922) - American conspiracy theorist and political activist Jean-Marie Le Pen (b. 1928) - former French National Front leader Josef Fritzl (b. 1935) - Austrian incest dad Irmin Schmidt (b. 1937) - German keyboardist, most of his bandmates have passed Rex Garrod (DOB unknown) - engineer, creator of Brum and Cassius on Robot Wars Plus pretty much all the other living candidates on my list in my signature as well would be decent enough picks (read it!) I had an old list of names that I wrote up in 2016. Here are some less obvious names, still living, that I obtained from that list. Hosni Mubarak E O Wilson Eugene Wright (jazz bassist) Jean Raspail Richard Lynn Jurgen Habermas Alan Greenspan Ross Perot Walter Mondale Micheline Bernardini (French bikini woman - would be an absolutely ingenious pick) Ron Jeremy Gary Glitter Anders Breivik Ian Watkins Roberta McCain Burt Bacharach Richard Sherman (Disney songwriter) Peter Tobin Tony Bennett Bill Wyman Kurt Westergaard John Cantlie Arvo Part Richard Wilson Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg Judy Blume There are probably more people that I could think of, people whose names I have encountered throughout the year and thought to myself they would be good candidates for this place, but I'm just too busy with my own life to be able to remember who they all are. I am a strictly casual Death Lister and only really come on here at Christmas and New Year, or when someone famous dies. Hope this post has helped anyway, if even in just some small way!

One of the 20 - I'm assuming that rule is fairly clear and in the last ten years nobody has entered a team of 21
