4 pointsTwitter reporting the death of Justus Rosenberg, professor emeritus of languages and literature at Bard College who helped to bring intellectuals and artists from Vichy France to the United States during World War II, at age 100.

3 pointsFinally one of these four dead, Dame Catherine Tizard has died at the age of 90 after a long illness: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/454628/dame-catherine-tizard-dies-aged-90 No Oceanian leaders left from before 1931, 1932 or 1934, one from 1933 which is the wheelchair-bound, stroke survivor Bill Hayden, Gov-Gen of Australia 1989-1996. 1931 has Deane (not seen in public for years AFAIK), Hardie Boys (not seen in public for years) and Matane (skeletal, lost a ton of weight recently) 1935 has NZ PM Jim Bolger and Australia's controversial Gov-Gen Peter Hollingworth. 1936 has Tuvalu's secretive leaders Tulaga Manuella and Kamuta Latasi, 1937 has only Vanuatu's founding president Sokomanu who was removed from power in 1986 for gross misconduct, can still stand and walk without assistance

2 pointsWhat's with all of the people writing off Michael Palin? Has he recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness I have missed as he looked fine in the recentish interviews I have seen him doing. I would still expect John Cleese to go next of the Pythons based on his obesity although he does have good genes (his mother lived to 100). Reckon Eric Idle will make very old bones and be the last surviving Python which might see him appear on the list in his 90s if that happens.

2 pointsBernardo Tengarrinha, a midfielder who had four Portuguese Under-21 caps and had spells at multiple clubs in his homeland, mostly on loan from FC Porto, where he never played a league match has died aged 32 of Hodgkin Lymphoma. He had initially put his career on hold in 2017 to fight leukaemia.

2 pointsWhy do you think that? I can't call to mind any reports of ill health or hospitalisations.

2 pointsIt’s not possible for the throne to pass immediately to the second in line. Charles becomes King at the very instant of his mother’s death. The instant. The only ceremony involved is her doctor pronouncing her dead.

1 pointAlso a bit of a politico. Very big Conservative Party donor which should help him get a Telegraph obituary!

1 pointArthur Forrest, who worked in the television industry for 75 years, beginning with the long-defunct DuMont network, eventually going on to direct the Dick Cavett Show and later long associated with ABC (American network) reality series like That's Incredible and Who's Line is it Anyway, has died. He was 95. https://www.the-sun.com/news/3968300/arthur-forrest-dead-whose-line-is-it-anyway/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=sunustwitter&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1635641414-3

1 pointNo real reason to be put in the deathlist just because she is " starting to age ". She ages slowly and steadily. If nothing more comes out until the end of the year I don't think that there is a big probability of death in 2022.

1 pointI can't help feeling that within a short time she'll be back to looking the same as before, or worse. It's like Eyes Without A Face (or Corruption, for fans of British horror pics).

1 pointIf there was a poll out there on who would die first out of Johnson or Liz, I'd pick Johnson because he is a fat prick. That, alone, is a good enough reason, right?
-
1 pointI don't think that the statement from Boris saying that the country wishes her well, bodes well. This reminds me of all the hype and speculation just before Philip's body temperature settled between 2C and 4C. Charles will probably soon be sized up for the St Edward's Crown, the State Coach will have its moving parts greased and the 8 horses will be put through their paces. I wonder if those that have just ended furlough are looking for yet more paid days off? I don't think we'll see another DL without Liz on it, until after the event.

1 pointI went to see Dune (Part One!!) on Monday. It was my pal's birthday so a bunch of us went along to see it. Dragged a LOT. Actively shifting in my seat during the last 40 minutes. Surely it's going to end now? Now? NOW? Please god, NOW!!!??? Looked old actually. And some places not supposed to be funny actually laughed out loud at the banality of the script. Not to say there isn't a lot to like...but hey, cut out a lot of the crap and maybe it could have been done in one movie. Won't be seeing Part Two.

1 pointWhy not roll them all into one thread and call it Celebrity Shit. Then we would only have one thread to avoid.

1 pointSo Austrian cinematographer Helmut Ashley (wiki), who has been picked in several deadpools on here, died on 2nd July 2021 aged 101 according to this forum post. IMDb has updated his profile to reflect this. IMDb never uses forum/social media posts as evidence nowadays so there must be a death notice online somewhere, which will be useful for updating his Wiki. Kudos to anyone who can find it. He also went under the names Helmuth Ashley and Helmuth Fischer-Ashley, so could be under those. He died in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, according to IMDb.

1 pointHer work schedule would exhaust many half her age. She has likely massively overexerted herself and exhausted her body. I don't think there is a secret illness but rather physical age and a dutiful hard working personality clashing which will result in adjustments being made for her future schedule. I think also not attending Glasgow is a sensible covid precaution given her age and the risk. I feel some are jumping to worst case scenarios and getting over anxious.

1 pointFootball coach John Blake, who debuted in 1987 as a tight end and wide receiver coach for Tulsa, and made his head coaching debut in 1996 for Oklahoma, died at only 59 years: https://sports.yahoo.com/longtime-coach-john-blake-dies-174634095.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmRlLw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAC7GOpkHrg0NtYF1j-ZIo4Ml_Ha7RR1FNaEce5Awb6EGI9FNvpFRHqT-4M4tFEiEljXullE8Wl5zQ9MuGr6HMrJJ3VLLPprU9Ox9jWaeBV8PJROCRkgXJxs6sciNR-u-25WP3pqOyKJjFuuWHvXvUX0iZEcFE3sozH_BjB4LpbM4
