4 pointsQueen Victoria did fuck all for much of the last 40 years of her reign because she was too sad. She also didn't have to worry about wankers on internet forms looking at the pictures and concluding that she needs the wheelchair because she has pancreatic cancer...

His son, author Michael Pincher is now wanting to send it back in protest at the war in Ukraine: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10791331/EDEN-CONFIDENTIAL-Olympic-rower-James-Cracknell-new-wife-Jordan-gold-pub-quiz.html

1 pointApparently Wu Liangyong recovered from a "serious illness" at 89. Another indestructible Chinese old guy to the long list of them? There's also Ma Shitu, Song Ping, Yang You, Wan Haifeng and others who seem to never die. Rolands Kalniņš isn't 100 yet, he'll be 100 in two days (9th of May).

1 point1. Not news about the State Opening of Parliament. We know that in all cases now the Queen decides on the day if she will be carrying out a potential engagement. Case in point, she hasn't even committed to being seen on the balcony for her own Jubilee. 2. Matters regarding the succession are constantly under review, including funeral plans which have been in place for decades. In short, there still isn't proof she is going to keel over imminently.

1 pointActor Douglas Fairbanks Jr. died on this day 22 years ago, aged 90. Fairbanks' career started in 1923 at the age of 13, largely due to association with his father Douglas Sr., who was also a famous actor. During the 1930s, he starred in hit movie after hit movie, including Outward Bound (1930), Little Caesar (1931), The Prisoner of Zenda (1937), and Gunga Din (1939). Fairbanks was also known for his marriage to Joan Crawford from 1929 to 1933. Fairbanks was commissioned into the US Navy in World War II, where he achieved the rank of lieutenant commander. He retired from the Naval Reserve as a captain in 1954. After the war, Fairbanks starred in a string of pirate-themed movies, none of which were a financial success. He later moved to the United Kingdom, where he attended the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Kent in 1961. Around this time, Fairbanks primarily acted on TV shows. He retired from acting in 1987. Fairbanks appeared twice on the DeathList, in 1999 and 2000, where he was the sixth death of the year (out of ten).

1 pointGiven Pope Francis' recent use of a wheelchair, potential health issue(s) and it is the end of the Easter season, it seems that 2022 is overdue for consistory. At the time of writing, there are 209 cardinals, of which 117 are cardinal electors. This is below the maximum threshold of 120 that can participate at the papal conclave. Francis has exceeded that threshold every consistory, yet if often falls below 120 within months. Francis has held consistories as follows: 22 February 2014 - 19 cardinals, 122 electors 14 February 2015 - 20 cardinals, 125 electors 19 November 2016 - 17 cardinals, 121 electors 28 June 2017 - 5 cardinals, 121 electors 28 June 2018 - 14 cardinals, 125 electors 5 October 2019 - 13 cardinals, 128 electors 28 November 2020 - 13 cardinals, 128 electors The time periods between consistories has been 12, 21, 7, 12, 16, and 13 months; currently going on 18 months since the November 2020 consistory. So certainly possible. It is also worth noting that the next cardinal to turn 80 is Norberto Rivera Carrera on 6 June, created cardinal by John Paul II. On 3 September the next cardinal to turn 80 is a Francis creation. From 22 September 2022 to 17 September 2023, a total of 11 cardinals will turn 80, 9 created by Benedict XVI and 2 by John Paul II. The next Francis creation after this to turn 80 is on 1 October 2023. If Francis is looking to his influence in the College of Cardinals and keeping his current state of health in mind, appointments between now and September make sense to cement his percentage of the demographics, especially for the electors.

1 pointThe Toms They Are a-Waning Tom Smith, or Tom Smith (rugby union, born 1971) to give him his full name, has died of cancer at the age of 50. I don't know much about rugby, but I suppose it must need unions like any job, so credit to this guy for his organising efforts – no doubt a great inspiration to those Amazon workers. ✊ 66.66667% of this year's hits so far have been Toms. Your host will bravely take this opportunity to come out as a Tom, and I can tell you this is causing deep concern in the Tom community. What a waste that modern DDP fame requirements probably disqualify me from picking myself. If I'd known when I started playing that I didn't have the option of eventually bowing out with a "SICK Deadpooler Predicts Own Suicide By Cop" headline, I don't think I'd have bothered getting so invested in the first place. No respect for creative flair in this day and age. Inverse Dead Poolers showed little faith in Mr (rugby union, born 1971)'s survival, but this early in the game, it's still enough to shake up the scrum. YoungWillz and Philip are dropped from the 0-points squad, but worst off is a blindsided Hell, who is cast down to the deep fiery pits of "just above Neobrakeon". GAINED TOTAL =1. Death Impends 0 =1.
