Robin Williams died on this day 8 years ago, aged 63. Here's a fact regarding Williams' death: on the day Williams committed suicide, BBC Three aired a rerun of the Family Guy episode "Family Guy Viewer Mail #2". It was an anthology episode, and the second segment revolved around Peter wishing that everyone was Robin Williams and getting a "Midas touch"-like ability to turn people into him. Peter's power grows further out of control to the point where he transforms his family. Peter then attempts multiple times to commit suicide, with each attempt failing due to everything he touches turning into Robin. Eventually, Peter sends the Robins out into the world to make others laugh, and cuts off his hands to prevent more from being created. News of Williams' death broke just as the episode ended, causing the channel to pull a rerun scheduled to air that Friday, and also led to the removal of Peter's suicide attempts on ITV2's broadcast.

You've not been paying attention. When someone on here claims points for a death, it's all about them. When someone posts their hits on their Shadow List, it's all about them. When someone on here reviews their DDP standings, it's all about them. When someone moans about the ability of the Committee to miss the obvious picks they would have picked, it's all about them. When someone has to troll another member while contributing nothing to the site, it's all about them. When someone has a disaster on the Inverse pool, it's all about them. And in your case, the only way to get an erection is to criticise others and get your post count up. Fortunately, I don't have long to listen to much more of the shite on here. Good day sir.

Hmmm As the person with the highest post count in the history of this site I can honestly say that I've never used a posting splurge hereabouts as preparation for any sexual act and - frankly - it'd likely be a turn off on an epic scale for the person on the receiving end (heh heh) if I ever did attempt it. Mentioning it mainly so's young and impressionable dead poolers don't get the wrong idea. Stick to tractor porn and a stack of fresh vegetables

I will miss Peggy. I wonder how long they will leave it before the character dies offscreen and whether they will wait until June Spencer is no longer with us before they do so? Now I think of it still no word on what EastEnders bosses plan to do over Dot dying offscreen now June Brown has died.

Isaac Hayes died on this day 14 years ago, aged 65. In the 1960s and 70s, Hayes was best known as a soul musician, with his best known work being the theme to the film Shaft, which earned him an Oscar. To more recent generations, Hayes is best known as the voice of Chef from South Park. Hayes would voice the character from the show's premiere in 1997 to the season 9 episode "Die Hippie, Die" in 2005. Later that season, the episode "Trapped in the Closet" aired. This episode mocked the ideas of the Church of Scientology- of which Hayes had been a member since 1993. While Hayes defended series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone after the episode's premiere, on March 13, 2006 (four months later), a statement issued in Hayes' name was made asking him to be released from his contract with Comedy Central. Parker and Stone obliged, and killed Chef off in the season 10 premiere nine days later- which made allusions to Scientology "brainwashing" him. It was later reported that Hayes had suffered a stroke in January of 2006, leaving him incapacitated. Hayes' son Isaac Hayes III revealed that his father's entourage decided that he leave the show- all of whom were Scientologists.

On this day in 1884 Kien Phuc, a child Emperor of Vietnam who reigned for less than 8 months died, died aged 15. His Uncle Emperor Tu Duc and his wife were unable to have children so he adopted a number of his preferred nephews to give them the official status of being in line to the throne. However he was killed in an act of regicide by Hiep Hoa who has launched a successful murderous coup to take over. Worried and angry about the countrys future, mandarins, regents and officials relatively swiftly deposed of Hiep Hoa and forced him to commit suicide It was at this point that young Kien Phuc, the preferred successor was quickly installed at 5am. However he too was destined to have only a short reign. He was apparently always prone to intermittently being a bit of a sickly child but his sudden death did still raise suspicions that he he had be poisoned by his adoptive mother , his late Uncles widow because she was allegedly having an affair with royal mandarin and regent Nguyen Van Tuong- a man who played a key role in depising of at least three successive Emperors because he deemed them problematic or a threat for a variety of reasons. A courtier with real power is how he is best understood. Kien was succeeded by his cousin who also had a very short reign.
