6 pointsFor any pedants out there, his Variety obituary says he died in the morning, so that'd make him the 14th hit and Rosalynn the 15th.

5 pointsGive the money to a mental health charity as it was such an important and dear cause that was very close to Mrs Carters heart. You can decide which one as I am not sure which charities over in the US are high quality as you have to be careful which organisations you send money to.

4 pointsHillary is now the only living person to have been a US First Lady in the 20th century (to Bill Clinton) Hillary is one of two known living people to have been in a relationship with an incumbent president in the 20th century (both to Bill Clinton)

4 pointsJimmy Carter and Henry Kissinger will have a big party as they celebrate their 125th birthday together.....

3 pointsSurely to feature on the 2024 DL. Widely appreciated actor, turning 100 and dementia sufferer

3 pointsIt must be awful for Jimmy, he knew Rosalynn since literally the week she was born as his mother was the midwife who delivered her. And then to see out her whole life & be left behind after his wife of nearly 80 years had gone.
-
3 pointsHow long do we give Jimmy now guys? Will he make it to Rosalynn's funeral even? I'll be generous & say mid-December.

3 pointsWho would have thought that Bess Truman’s record would still hold after 41 years. Lady Bird, Betty, Nancy, Barbara and Rosalyn all came close though. Laura’s now the oldest, Hillary the earliest-serving and last First Lady of the 20th century.

3 pointsAfter the hospice announcement I already had a hunch she'd go before Jimmy would, but I didn't expect it to be this fast.

3 pointsI think some of you are a bit too excited about this. Mrs. Carter was a good person and the world is worse without her. RIP.

2 pointsHello There and Welcome, or Welcome Back to those returning, to the third round of the Crazy Eight Dead Pool! This pool is a lot like the Midsummer and Advent pools in that every entrant may choose only one pick, but the winner will be he/she/they who predicts the Eighth death, not the first, so folks with only 24/48 hours to live may not be the best choice here. Credit for this pool's creation goes to GuyFromFuture, I am merely the host. The Official Rules: 1. Entrants will have 24 hours to submit an entry, declared in this thread, as opposed to by PM. 1 entry per person. 2. Entries open on 20th November 2023 at 00:00 GMT. First come, first served. 3. No two players can pick the same person. 4a. Banned picks include death row inmates (unless sentenced to death after being picked), FFBI, people under the age of 18, and all of the usual no-go areas. Death row inmates, FFBI, people under the age of 18, etc. are eligible to enter as a participant, however. 4b. I am aware that some pools class supercentenarians as FFBI, because they are famous solely due to their age, but that is not the case in this pool, and so they are perfectly eligible to be picked. 5. The QO standards remain fairly low, as long as they are definitely dead, and an obituary, as opposed to a death notice or a social media post, has been published, the hit will be counted. The only exception to this rule is, like last time, legacy.com remains a non-QO source. 6. For legal reasons, killing your or others' picks to speed up the pace of the game or to win is not advised. 7a. Hit placement is determined by date of death, as opposed to date of death announcement. However, in the instance that two entries die on the day of the eighth death, whichever death is reported first shall be counted first. 7b. In the case that a specific date of death cannot be determined, the date said death is announced shall take its place. I am still fairly new to running a pool, so if any of the more experienced members have any suggestions for additions/amendments to the rules, please feel free to say so. The same goes for any questions, should they be prompted. Hall of Fame: 2022-2023: MortalCaso (Ted Kaczynski). 2023: Yvonne (Joss Ackland).

2 pointsI had the good fortune of working for Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets this past weekend at The Turf Club in St Paul, Minnesota. They performed two sold out gigs. Nick was in fine form.

2 pointsRespect to Rosalynn (RIP) but Joss Ackland was famous for a lot more than being married to someone famous. A top actor who I'm amazed lasted as long as he did given he looked really old in the 1980s and was quite overweight in later life. RIP

2 pointsFor funsies I dabbled with some AI prompts to see if it'd chuck out cool 'brandings' for deadpools. This is its attempt for this one.

2 pointsI think he’s actually gonna die now, Rosalynn was probably the only reason he was still alive If he doesn’t go soon Oxford Dictionary is gonna have to change their definition of “hospice care” if they haven’t already
