I see the members with terminal brainrot (mostly deadboy999, who hasn't made a smart contribution to this site in his life) are getting a frothy cock at the thought of entering a debate about Derek Chauvin. Christ. A murderer got stabbed in prison and you're finding a way to soften his actions that lead him to be there. Just because his victim had a criminal record doesn't make him any less of a murdering shithead, that killed someone on a busy street in broad daylight if you need reminding. Hopefully more shanking to come!

Wrong, yes. Should it garner sympathy? Of course not. That's exactly what gammony white men people are trying to do when they make out he's a martyr of injustice. *exits thread to skim through 6394 of the irrelevant obits Old Crem has decided to harass us with today*

A little update during this well-deserved November break. The big hit this update was Johnny Ruffo, the actor/singer from Australia. The curse of Home and Away strikes once more. He's one of the biggest hits this year, lots of players score and he's one of the youngest hits in the game. Some people, including me, score joker points. We've had two DeathList hits that also score here, Joss Ackland and Rosalynn Carter. Well done to the pickers. Suzanne Somers was a unique hit for etib80, congratulations! I have to admit, neither of her big shows ring any bell with me. Then, as mentioned above, Joan Jara gives Cpt Hemlock another unique hit. The yahoo obit has since been followed by other QOs. She was an artist-y figure, acting/dancing, turned political activist/wife of chilean labor hero Victor Jara. This already seems to be it. Not much in almost a whole month. The scoreboard shows me attacking the top with just 4 pts behind. But is there still a unique pick for me left in the game, or is this minor difference going to remain? In other news, expect the new thread soon. Rank Team Score 1 Banana 1161 2 gcreptile 1157 3 JoeyRuss 1059 4 RadGuy 1022 5 Cpt. It is a much bigger round too. But yeah, in adding to the authenticity of the scores it has also added time. I’ve no plans to bring the scoreboard back for this game or the other No.2 games, but I think I will have the scoreboard in the Christmas game, purely because there are loads of songs to get through and, let’s face it, we don’t want to risk it overrunning.

RTD himself has admitted that he has buggered up the timing with this one, Finney (the actress) is 20 and the character is meant to be around 15, an age which clearly doesn't fit the timeline unless she is adopted but the ending removes that option entirely. We don't really know how far along the process of transitioning that Rose is and it's probably not going to be told to us, yes there is a slight issue with realism but I'm not that fussed as it's great representation and gets tories with brain rot on twitter angry.

Lindsey Graham once said that conservatives don't create enough angry, white men to stay competetive politically. I have a feeling that some people just talk about this to make some white men angry.

Bill Foulkes was born in St Helens and died 10 years ago in Manchester at the age of 81. He had a total of 688 appearances for Manchester United, as well as nine goals. For the English national team, Bill played just one game, scoring no goals. He survived the disaster aerial performance in Munich and was part of Manchester United's 67-68 European title

Hastings Banda died on this day 26 years ago, aged ~99. - Banda's year of birth is contested between 1898 and 1906- he claimed the latter, but the tribe he belonged to claimed the former (and he would accept the former later in his life). - Banda received his education overseas (earning a medical degree), returning to Malawi (then Nyasaland) in 1958. He would be arrested the following year for anticolonial activity, being released after a year. - Banda was the one who gave Malawi its post-independence name, naming it after a lake. - After becoming Malawi's first president in 1964, Banda immediately showed dictatorial tendencies by firing cabinet ministers who proposed limiting his power. His Malawi Congress Party became the only legal political party in the country, and he was made president for life in 1971. - Under the Banda regime, all businesses had to have an official picture of him (nothing could be hung higher than it), movies were not allowed to show acts of love (and all of them began with a preshow of Banda waving while Malawi's anthem played), and books about the history of colonial Malawi were burned. - Banda's 30-year presidency ended after he allowed the country to transition to democracy in 1993- he was easily defeated in the 1994 elections by Bakili Muluzi of the newly-formed United Democratic Front Party. - Banda would be arrested in 1995, charged with the murder of four political dissidents in 1983, but was acquitted due to a lack of evidence. - Banda made four appearances on the DeathList (from 1994 until his death), and was the ninth and final hit of 1997.
