3 pointsNovember ahoy. Right. Actress and Brando co-star Miiko Taka was one of the very first Sayonaras of the year but went notably under the radar. When her Hollywood Reporter obit didn't translate to Yahoo, and she didn't scrape by in any of the proper QOs, I thought that was that. But doing a triple check before the year's end uncovered the above and so it is a very belated 25 sub points for JoeMoneypenny. Fast forwarding to more recent cadavers. Johnny Ruffo was a moderately popular selection in light of the downward swing in his brain cancer battle. Those feeling on top include MariNisia and The Old Crem with 35 points, msc and Perhaps with 30 points, Etushispushingupdaisies and Sean with 25 points, and BuffaloPhil the first sub likewise for 25. Mrs. Peanut herself, Rosalynn Carter was considerably less popular than her husband but was still on a few teams. All three also picked Jimmy - more on that soon? 25 points for TheDumbReaper, 10 for arghton, and a second sub hit worth 50 points ThereWillBeDeaths7. Charles Peters, the founder of US politics magazine Washington Monthly, was another John "요한" Sulu pulled straight from his elderly celebrity bible. Hot off the press are 42 points (30 base + 12 unique). Henry Kissinger needs no introduction. Paving the way for Pol Pot alone would merit the crimes against humanity bonus. Let alone installing Pinochet too. Let alone all the other countries whose innocents he decimated in the name of America being the greatest. Tuber Mirum himself gave blessing to a heftier crimes against humanity bonus specifically for Kissinger. So for ole Beelzebub here I am according a +6 crimes against humanity bonus typically reserved for war criminal US presidents. So those who gave the crane game a whirl and claw out a worthy reward are as follows: My Nixon theme team is the biggest winner with 45 + 54 = 99 points. LizLemon and Murdoc 40 + 48 = 88 points. CaptainChorizo and TheKilingTime 35 + 42 = 77 points. chilean way, Clarence, diego, and nantonian2013 30 + 36 = 66 points. and Lord Fellatio Nelson, markb4, TheDumbReaper, and Young One 25 + 30 = 55 points. Yin and yang goes, a much greater loss to the world followed Kissinger by mere hours in Shane MacGowan. The hard-living, gravity-defying Pogue grew in DP popularity recent years but remained a cult pick here, only being on one main team plus a subs bench. TheDumbReaper gains 49 points (35 base + 14 bonus) and The Unknown Man 50 for his second sub hit. In an unanimous 9-0 decision, the US Supreme Court has ruled that their former justice Sandra Day O'Connor is dead. The verdict's ramifications have reverberated throughout the HPDP, with LizLemon successfully arguing the case of Reaper v. O'Connor to a total of 42 points (30 base + 12 bonus). Rounding off this update is MEP and Neil's wife Glenys Kinnock. She was a unique pick for ThereWillBeDeaths7 worth 28 points (20 base + 8 bonus). And so it's an update! DDT's eclectic ecclesiasticals are the only team left on nil points. Kissinger could well set up a riveting finale, with him boosting CaptainChorizo to second and the Kissinger+O'Connor combo taking LizLemon from midtable to fourth. At a brief glance, the chasing pack still need multiple hits to catch Reptile, but if we have a crazy December, or if a long-lost tape of Jimmy Carter Morris dancing on Hollywood Squares is uncovered, things could get spicy. 1. gcreptile 567.95 2. 3 pointsThere is a very clear difference between Prince Philip at 98 and Dick Van Dyke at (almost) 98, though. Whilst it is true that heart disease is a large killer of old men, it's also true that those in the best shape tend to last longer. Dick Van Dyke's internal health is clearly pretty good to be able to have the level of functioning that he enjoys. Prince Philip was hospitalised several times in his later years, and looked like a zombie - he was only walking because he was too stubborn to submit to mobility support he clearly needed, and there'd have been no question of him dancing. Betty White certainly still retained all her marbles right to the end, but from what I've seen she was certainly ailing a bit physically in her latter years and I don't think it was a huge shock that she died. It's just that everyone was so hyped about her possibly reaching 100. I'd happily see DVD dropped. It would be good to see people chosen on account of their health as opposed to just their age.

2 pointsYes, deadpoolers, it’s this time again. 2023 has had departures from as sad as Tina Turner to as welcomed as Henry Kissinger, but there’s still two constants in this world: The Derby Dead Pool, and us laughing at whichever poor souls fall for Superstar Billy Graham again. Erm, okay, one constant. For 2024, @Banana and I are continuing in our previous posts. As for @gcreptile's announced retirement. We all can agree he has done a bang up job for the past four years entering the celeb deaths and sorting out bugs while never losing his trademark zen. As it stands he is still in talks with a potential successor and will remain on the committee for at least another month or so to assure a smooth transition, and we will keep you updated as that progresses. Dear Jimmy - either die in the next week, or go all the way to 2024 - love, Banana THE RULES remain the same as they have for the past few years. Be warned – Ruth Langsford mother falls afoul of our FFBI criteria. IMPORTANT REMINDER: The spreadsheet method of entry that began in 2021 remains in service. The 2024 spreadsheet, identical to the 2023 one in all but filename, can be found here. It is heavily recommended to use the spreadsheet as means of entry to reduce Banana's workload as much as possible. If you are absolutely unable to work with the Excel spreadsheet, still make sure to recheck GUN's DDP entry guide thread from 2020 to make the formatting of your email as smooth as possible.

2 pointsDon McLean thought 3rd Feb 1959 was the day the music died. Tragic though the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and Big Bopper was, this simply can't be the case; the majority of good music was made after that date. But whilst sorting through the UK 00s charts for a future KoS game, I stumbled across the actual day the music died, after realising a very sudden and as yet irrecoverable dearth of talent at a certain point. Guys, music died on 30th May 2007. It wasn't an air disaster that did it, no, it was much worse: it was the day Lee Mead off of a short lived Andrew Lloyd Webber "talent show" got to number 2 with Any Dream Will Do, dressed up in Joseph's fucking technicolour coat. Since that exact point, music has been comparably wank. It's Lloyd Webber's fault.

2 pointsI'm 30 and I know BB since forever. She is like a milestone of beauty and I don't know any movie she did. She's like Marilyn Monroe but not dead yet so people don't use her pics as much. I've seen girls use her as inspiration. She's just known. Deneuve is not as famous outside France and UK. She's an actress, not a symbol of something. No hate, just beaing real. My dad who loves French cinema had to think twice to remember her. BB beats CD in fame. Deneuve is like Belmondo. Famous but not a FAMOUS. Loren is a legend.
