He died yesterday (7th) in his sleep, which means we had 3 hits in the first week. A strange coincidence is that @drol started the thread exactly a year before his death. You know who else lasted 365 days on this forum? Deathrow66.

No. But 3 deaths in the first 8 days is.

Get me a chill pill mate, I'm burning up here.... As we all know, 90s chart regular and one of the few musicians to name themselves after a football manager who allegedly [deleted on legal reasons] Dario G is currently battling stage 4 rectal cancer. Mallorca Lee, of Ultrasonic and Public Domain, has "a matter of months" to live after being diagnosed with a terminal cancer of some sort. DJ Michael Bibi has given himself the "all clear" from CNS lymphoma, but probably worth keeping an eye on. And Matt James of Mashd N Kutcher has multiple myeloma, and doesn't sound too optimistic about his chances in interviews I've seen. Enough for a thread I'd have thought.

If we take the 7th as the date of death and extrapolate this pro rata then 50 hits would come around 4pm on 26th April. If we go with the 8th then we are looking at 8am on 13th May

Not quite sure where to put this one. It's a personal loss as well. Mike Jann, local musician (Minnesota) passed away last night. He used to play guitar in the late 50s alongside Tony Andreason who went on to be the lead vocalist and guitarist for The Trashmen Mike would go on to be a main part of the road crew for The Trashmen. He set up the photo shoot for the cover of their debut album. He also painted their tour van which can be seen on the cover of their album Live Bird 65-67 Mike was such a a sweet guy who would regale us with tales of the road. He had been in declining health since his wife passed away in 2020.

I suppose, if we consider the list to be for 2004, Benedict is able to qualify. Good save.

At the rate this list is going, about five months from now we'll have 49 picks dead, and this poll will simply be Jimmy Carter vs. That's All Folks! And when that moment comes, the safest thing to do will still probably be to vote That's All Folks!

I'd throw in William Orbit, who decided to take up drugs in his early 60s. Ended up having a breakdown. Now 67 and seemingly recovered, but he looks really haggard. Interview in which he discusses some of his issues in depth: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/nov/19/madonna-drugs-and-helicopter-trained-dogs-the-dark-starry-life-of-william-orbit

I wonder if we need a dance/electronic music DJ/Producer thread? Techno pioneers make uneasy bedfellows with Radio 2 stalwarts
