History shows the next Tory PM is likely to not even be in Parliament yet. Every PM who came to power via an election since 1997 entered Parliament via the election after the election that party last lost power in: -Blair became an MP in 1983 (as did Brown as it happens). -Cameron in 2001. -Starmer in 2015. Entering Parliament in an election after the one your party lost power in pretty much guarantees one had nothing to do with the previous government.

Thanks very much! I definitely closed my eyes on and off between 5.30 and 6.30 but didn't really sleep as I was eagerly awaiting Trussterfuck's fate. Left for school at 7.15 and muddled through OK until around 1pm when I crashed a bit and had to stay sat in the chair vaguely keeping an eye on some Year 8s. Last lesson the kids were feral, which was a challenge but I survived! No rest for the wicked, however, as I immediately headed for the railway station on Friday afternoon to catch a train down to London to camp in the Wimbledon Queue. Got pissed wet through and had around 5 hours of relatively decent sleep from midnight (I'd been awake around 40 hours at that point!) to about 5am (when they start waking you up). It's now midnight today and I'm settling down again before going home tomorrow. So I'm at about 5 hours sleep in the last 59. Strangely lucid but time to sleep now...

I'm in Mallorca for the next week, I've spent the day so far lying by the pool, drinking beer and watching some 1980s Coronation Street on my phone.

Including all the free kicks he's hogged, he had over 30 shots throughout the tournament and scored none of them. That's absolutely abysmal. He missed (by a colossal margin) an absolute sitter last night that I reckon even I'd have had a reasonable chance of scoring. He's an arrogant prick who believes that the sun is still shining on his career, but the last few glimmers of sunlight are rapidly setting and he needs to take his odious personality elsewhere. If you're going to be a twat, at least be a good-looking twat. Otherwise you give me zero cause to defend your presence.

Definitely NOT a drop imo. I can see he his getting frailer which of course is natural for someone in their 90s. A- list Hollywood actor and should remain on the list until he goes.

Here are some more names for Jimmy Carter to outlast: Earlier suggestions I agree with: Pasqual Maragall (1941): Alzheimer's since 2007. One of the original suggestions by arghton on page 4 of this thread Louis Farrakhan (1933) and Oscar Wyatt (1924): a pair of nonagenarian fatties. The former had enough health issues to make the DeathList twenty years ago, and the latter turns 100 next week. Marita Camacho Quirós (1911): How many actually noteworthy people make it to 113? Peter Marshall (1926-2024) and Amartya Sen (1933): I would also support their inclusion on next year's DeathList Wang Xiji (1921): Zombie Gyanashree Mahathero (1925): ...or at least the 80 pounds left of him. Jamshid bin Abdullah (1929): Has been on his "last legs" for ages. Widely accepted as immortal, but not on the list: Grand Cunt Hossein Wahid Khorasani (1921): Has spent the last 103 years supporting Billy Joel's theory that only the good die young. Wang Fuzhi (1923): the last of China's "Founding Generals". Harrison Ruffin Tyler (1928): In failing health for 12 years. Grandfather was President John Tyler (born 1790). How? Original suggestions: Min Jingde (1915): Probably not famous enough, but he's in dire condition. Moshe Sternbuch (1926): Morbidly obese Haredi rabbi on oxygen. Wu Liangyong (1922): Legendary architect/urban planner who suffered a massive stroke in 2008. Sam Nujoma (1929): Overweight Namibian president. Rumored ill since 2009, survived COVID in 2020, hospitalized in May 2024, and missed his sister's funeral last month. Mahmoud Abbas (1935): Widely unpopular Palestinian leader in poor health for a long time. Kaiti Grey (1924): Centenarian with advanced dementia who survived a serious trip to the ICU earlier this year Larry (2007): Chief Mouser at 10 Downing Street. Despite rumored ill health, he has outlasted five Prime Ministers and one monarch.

Thomas Hooker died on this day 377 years ago, aged 61. - Hooker was a teacher and preacher who would acquire a sizable Puritan following, and would emigrate to what is now Massachusetts in 1633. - Hooker became dissatisfied with the laws of the Massachusetts Bay Colony- he thought the towns were all too close together, and the fact that voting was limited to those who had formally admitted to their church. Hooker, along with Samuel Stone, would set out west with a group of about 100 settlers when the Massachusetts General Court allowed colonists to do so. - In 1636, Hooker and Stone would found the settlement of Hartford, and would name the new colony Connecticut after the nearby river. Hooker would assist in drafting the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut in 1639 (in which peoples' rights in the colony were defined), and as such has been referred to as the "father" of said state. - Hooker died during the 1647 flu epidemic. He had six children, and among his descendants were William Howard Taft and Aaron Burr.

On the contrary, that sort of activity for any 91-year-old, let alone one with a long history of emphysema, gives reason to worry about a potential health strain.

It'll be an interesting infight from here, Braverman obviously fancies herself, likely Patel too and the parliamentary party fancies at least one centrist on the ballot, at which point the ageing, dwindling and more right wing than most of us membership are trusted to make the decision. Given the election result it's unthinkable the party electorate would trust the parliamentary party to preside over another enthronement. Point being, it's likely one rabidly right leaning self-believer will be dumped at the start - two if Badenoch is gifted with a place on the ticket - and I'm wondering how tempted that person(s) might be to chuck the toys out of the Tory pram and find comfort in the arms of Reform. Fuck knows, Starmer's walked into a shit show of problems, but the predictable dog-fight across the floor whilst Sunak suffers as lame-duck LOTO will buy him time to make a few tough decisions.

These are most likely fruit flies or possibly drain flies. Attracted to water, especially stagnant water if the latter. Baths are a brilliant place for this. Can indicate the presence of mould in your bathroom if they are in great abundance, so perhaps check for that. They've died because the water has made their wings and body too wet to fly away, rendering them unable to escape.
