3 pointsOur host, TQR, will no longer be updating this pool and has graciously handed this pool over to me to update henceforth. I wanna thank him for all the work he's done on the pool up to this point!

3 pointsMildly interesting DL-related trivia is that he was Dick Van Dyke's IRL gym pal, hence why DVD appeared on Days as Hogestyn's dad last year.

3 pointsAlexandre do Nascimento (wiki) finally dead at 99. A DDP pick for 2 teams. Nascimento was the last living cardinal born in 1925. The oldest living cardinal is now Estanislao Esteban Karlic (wiki) of Argentina who is 98. Nascimento was also the last surviving cardinal who was barred from voting in the 2005 conclave (which elected Benedict) because he was 80+ and thus ineligible to vote.

2 pointsIs there anybody in the world surprised that Rosie Duffield has quit the Labour Party? A ticking timebomb for at least 2 years. Doing so at a time of peak weakness. How ever much the left froth and the right shout and scream, Sir Keir has a majority of more than 160, he can largely do what he likes. I would appreciate it if he could clean his act up though, stop the amateur mistakes and crack on with solving some of the issues this country faces. Lots of words and plans but not a lot of action yet (I know that's not all his fault, summer then conference season - just imagine if Rishi had called the election in May like he was meant to!) and plenty of pain but not much in the way of rewards. All this nonsense is taking up the room because there's nothing else to talk about. Let's see some practical steps that sure up the finances, make people feel more confident and start to move the country in the right direction. No problem with him taking executive tickets at Arsenal, fully understand the security risks and he's had a season ticket for years. The clothes and stuff is a trickier issue, some of it is a storm in a teacup (Angela Rayner in NYC) but the clothes gifts are awkward when he's so personally wealthy. That said, the double standards from the Tories on this is incredible - do they remember their saviour Boris?

2 pointsI intentionally didn’t list background characters/extras. “Dimpled woman on train” is not interesting.

1 pointI'm still trying to muster the courage to watch that. I watched it last night. Not what you'd call a feelgood family film, is it? Some of it was pretty icky and I was afraid it might give me bad dreams but it didn't , not so far anyway. I won't watch it again, but I'm glad I've seen it.

1 pointNasrallah had the ultimate bad luck, as his death was completely overshadowed by the demise of a universally loved leading lady, organic farmer Pappammal.

1 pointMaybe it's just personal interest because I'm with Gisooo in that it's been a horrible year. But all of the names who come to mind for BIG deaths are only really big for personal interests. In terms of most shocking Carl Weathers and Ian Lavender come to mind but both were in their 70s, so not really. Personally Susan Wojcicki is a big shock death but that was hardly front page news. Alexei Navalny is probably the closest to a internationally famous shock death, but being realistic the biggest shock is that it didn't happen 10 years ago. Major political deaths have been quite lacking, I'd argue Brian Mulroney is maybe the biggest. Off the top of my head OJ Simpson is possibly the most high profile death of the year so far, with his only competition being James Earl Jones or Donald Sutherland.

1 pointDid not expect her to be the first Dame to die out of the "Tea with the Dames"-cast, beside being the youngest: Joan Plowright (28.10.1929), Eileen Atkins (16.06.1934) and Judi Dench (09.12.1934) all were older than Maggie Smith (28.12.1934), even if only by a few months or even weeks.
