Herbert Rusche was a German politician (Green Party, later Pirate Parties) and LGBTQ activist. He was the first member of the German Bundestag in the history of the German Bundestag to openly admit his homosexuality. On March 12, 1984, Rusche was shot and slightly injured by a Neo-Nazi during a lecture on the issue of § 175 because of his homosexuality. He died on December 22, 2024 at the age of 72, probably as a result of an earlier stroke.

I am really enjoying this round and I only needed to listen to a few of them to remind me. We have quite quickly weeded out some dross (and the odd gem) but just picking 10 to progress is really hard. I was only 10 in 1979 but had three older siblings so this music is really embedded in my psyche. The Eighties rounds will be even better

Fun fact: Joan Plowright starred in the film Dennis the Menace, and "Denis the Menace" was one of Denis Law's nicknames.

You did, it pays to do research, and look thoroughly, first. But, you're a noob, so SOME of us will let that slide. Others, well, they'll berate and belittle you, cause they like to feel better than others. lol

So, it looks like the rule of three was actually not Hollyoaks or Big Brother, but Manchester City. For Book was the captain of the title winning side in 1969. One of his team-mates was Bobby Kennedy who died on the 11th January, 2 days before Book. 3 City players dead in 6 days.

Interesting to read through the earlier pages of this thread particularly 2015 when he was first diagnosed with cancer. Basically no one gave him more than a couple of years and the idea of him making 2020 was ridiculed. With his recent woes it’s easy to forget just how much of a survivor he is!
