Personally, I find the "Kill or Save" threads far more annoying than anything that Diego posts. I'd much prefer 10 posts a day about obscure Eastern European footballers than 50 posts a day to decide the second best song from 50 years ago. At least they are about dead people. But that's just me
However, both KoS and Diego are very, very far down on an extremely long list of "Things that piss me off on a daily basis", so I generally find it very easy to ignore both and get on with life.

I think I'll desist from my quest for a bonus point here. I've got more interesting things to do on a bank holiday weekend than compare photos of dead American chat show hosts and I'm sure you have you have better things to do than adjudicate my lazy efforts at same too so I'll do both of us a favour.

Bob may only have one suit, but I am guessing that those two lovely ladies have more than 1 dress, so it is definitely the same awards ceremony as what you posted from. Which was in 2007. Which is therefore the same awards ceremony that Toast posted a picture from already..
Cant accept it, I'm afraid

I am guessing you got it from USmagazine.com where they have that picture beside the section on him winning an Emmy in 1982. However they have just inserted random pictures into that article, regardless of the timeline.

Not many hits to reports since the last update, all of 9 days ago. However, at this time of year the hits tend to get more significant as the points rise, as this weeks update illustrates.
18th August: Al Quie
21st August: Abe Jacobs
26th August: Bob Barker
Bob Barkers demise is obviously the big one here, being selected by 13 players, enough for a place on the ZZZ Boring Predictable Team. Most significantly, he was a hit for @TheSpinosauruswho now takes the lead. @Thatcherwas only in the lead for 10 days this time, and now drops down to second place. Three more players cross the 1000 point barrier, with last years champion @Death Impendslurking ominously in 5th place with a Joker still to play. However no-one is running away with it, and there is plenty of scope for a bolter from the pack over the coming month or two.
These are the players over 1000 points. Full updated leaderboard, as always, is on page 1.
The Spinosaurus (1426 points) 7 hits
Thatcher (1253 points) 8 hits
[Federico Bahamontes, George Alagiah, Gianluca Vialli, Gina Lollobrigida, Milan Kundera Rolf Harris*, Ted Kaczynski, Tony Bennett]
WEP (1204 points) 7 hits
[Augie Nieto, George Alagiah*, Jango Edwards, Mutulu Shakur, Ralf Harris, Teresa Taylor, Tim Lobinger]
The Unknown Man (1130 points) 6 hits
[Bob Barker, George Alagiah*, Gianluca Vialli, Milan Kundera, Rolf Harris, Ted Kaczynski]
Death Impends (1128 points) 8 hits
[Bert I Gordon, Billy Graham, Bob Barker, Ed Ames, Francoise Gilot, Jimmy Weldon, Lucille Randon, Milan Kundera]
Wannamaker (1051 points) 9 hits
[Bob Barker, Frank McGarvey, George Alagiah, King Constantine, Pervez Musharraf, Milan Kundera, Rolf Harris, Ryiuchi Sakamoto, Ted Kaczynski]

12 hours ago, Toast said:Bob Barker accepts Outstanding Game Show Host award for "The Price is Right".
This is one of his 14 Emmys in that category, but the date is not given.
My extensive research suggests that this is from the 34th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2007.
These Emmy photos are going to be difficult to assess, because similar to Tony Bennett, Bob Barker appears to be wearing the same suit with the same red handkerchief in the pocket at all of the Emmy ceremonies! And you can't tell by the look of his face, as the older he got, the younger he looked!
For example, this is Bob receiving a 1996 Daytime Emmy award.

It's quite interesting to read about it, if actually reading about stuff is your thing. Apparently it is not all about cursing someone, although that it is what it came to be used at in voodoo. It is also widely used as a protective charm and is (or at least was) used in parts of Africa as a contraceptive.

Now that Nick Hitchon has gotten a QO, I can stop sulking and bring you an update. Not many popular hits, but there were a few important ones. These are who I have since the last update:
23rd July: Nick Hitchon
8th August: Federico Bahamontes
8th August: Yulia Borisova
9th August: Doreen Mantle
17th August: John Devitt
17th August: Michael Parkinson
18th August: James L. Buckley
With the Bahamontes hit, @Thatcherretakes the lead that @WEPheld for a full 4 days. WEP drops down to second, just ahead of @TheSpinosauruswho becomes the third player to pass the 1000 point mark. Despite their worries, with only 6 hits down, they have plenty of scope to rack up scores as the year progresses. @TQRand I both enter the top 10, which is listed below.
At the bottom of the pile, Parkie gives @Bibliogryphontheir first hit of the game, leaving only @chickencobra, @DeathByArsenicand @Pedro67 still with nul-points.
Full scoreboard is on page 1, let me know if I missed anyone,

I'll tell you what's wrong with it. It didn't come up on my google search, that's what bloody wrong with it.
Search "Nick Hitchon" - nothing
Search "Nick Hitchon obituary" - nothing
Search "Nick Hitchon died" - up it comes
I have no idea how Google algorithms work (and please for the love of God, don't try to explain it to me), but it would want to get its bloody act together. Do Google not realise that it's hard enough running a deadpool without this bullshit going on

Rise and shine, happy dead-poolers - it's your Sunday morning update! Just what you need to start off The Lords Day - a update on people he didn't care enough about to save.
And it's another popular one, George Alagiah, selected by all but 4 teams. Only @Gooseberry Crumble (naturally), @Great Uncle Bulgaria, Mrs @Pedro67 (has she really never heard of Alagiah and @tracy (fair enough - he wasn't born in the 1920s ) failed to pick the ex-newsreader. For someone who was a very public figure and who received numerous awards, pictures of this were surprisingly hard to come by, with only 3 players scoring a picture bonus.

And so we move on to the man with one suit, Tony Bennett.
Only picked by 8 players in this pool, he was more popular in the DDP, giving him a bonus for being Drop 40, and also popular with The Committee, giving him the DL Alumnus bonus. Sadly for his backers in this pool, he was also quite fond both of himself, giving us a -3 point "bonus" for multiple autobiographies, and of wives for which he gets -2 for his 2 remarriages. The upshot is a measly 3 points on offer.

The only person to have Bennett as a wildcard was @tracy for only their fourth hit of the game. The first three were Ben Ferencz, Al Jaffee and Milan Kundera and do you know what those four have in common? Yep, they were all born in the 1920's, meaning a 4 point deduction, doubled for the wildcard! Its like deja-vu, all over again. The result is a score of -2 for their Tony Bennett hit
@ThereWillBeDeaths7follows up their Kundera deduction with a Bennett hit, giving them a -3 "bonus" and a score of 0 for the hit
@Book, @The Unknown Manand @Toastalso followed up their Kundera hit with a Bennett one, giving all three a -2 "bonus" for hits born in the same decade.
Mrs @Pedro67 gets her second hit of the game, but remains in second from last position, gazing upwards at @Pedro67, but with @Gooseberry Crumbleperched beneath her.
The net result of all of this work is that there is bugger-all change in the leaderboard, with Book edging closer to our long-time leader @gcreptile

An update was promised, and an update you shall get, one death at a time.
First up, we have the passing of literary genius Milan Kundera. I did actually read The Unbearable Lightness of Being when I was younger, and it made about as much sense as the scoring system of this pool!. Probably took me about as long to read it as it does to update the pool and all.
I have not managed to discover who attempted to cheat the scoring system by adding a "Personal Life" section to Kundera's Wikipedia page after his death, but it goes without saying that no bonus points will be given for that one. I have now gone through the Wikipedia pages of all remaining picks and noted who has a "Personal Life" section or not (there's 2 hours of my life I won't be getting back!), so whoever was trying it on the last time, I am watching out for you

Despite Kundera receiving many awards, only 1 photo seems to exist of him actually accepting one, preferring to send his translators in his place. That translates into 2 bonus points for @gcreptilewho increases their lead again at the top of the table.

Realistically, only 4 of them are potential hits though, with Pete Murray, Eric Idle, Charlie Bird and Stan Boardman (wtf was I thinking?) unlikely to trouble the scorers. So I'm probably relying on all of Frank Field, Jimmy Carter, Rob Burrow and Nigel Starmer-Smith dying in the next 4 months. Not impossible, but extremely unlikely.
