Gooseberry Crumble 5,337 Posted January 22, 2023 Awe I see nobody has picked my former team regulars Jacqueline White and Christina Crawford-I was convinced someone would thus making them not uniques for me! Going by recent past form that means both will end up on list of the missing this year!

Just checking seeing as I was a bit confused due to not saying she was dead, but then I noticed Vialli isn't crossed off the team/people listing either (though mentioned on front page). Thanks for clarifying.

Some housekeeping: SPORTSPEOPLE I THINK MIGHT DIE IN 2023: Bill Gates is the former Middlesbrough footballer and not the vaccine-microchipping computer illuminatus. Dave Watson is the former England international (b. 10/46) and not the goalkeeping coach. Dick Savitt is completely correct, I'm just bringing him up because I got a unique hit. PEOPLE I THINK MIGHT DIE IN 2023: Michael Fish is the designer of the kipper tie and my lone recurring unique and not the weatherchap. Salut! People in Birmingham think that THIS is a Kipper Tie . . . . 1
Captain Hemlock 740 Posted January 23, 2023 Considering the wide diversity of picks, it’s amazing that there would ever be a List of the Missed. This must be an insanely huge database at this point.
Ulitzer95 12,585 Posted January 23, 2023 David Graham was not born in 1930. Johnny Gilbert was not born in 1924. I bring these up every year, and they're never corrected. Also, the photo of cricketer Thelma McKenzie (who is dead) is in face of some random Australian woman of the same name (who is also dead). God knows why a team keeps picking this individual every year... EDIT: Another one – Katsumi Tezuka has been picked yet again, even though he's dead. But regardless of that, that photo being used is not him.

Youth in Asia 1,086 Posted January 23, 2023 Whale - 15 jokers Vialli - 38 jokers Alagiah - 13 jokers Irwin - 63 jokers Has anyone ever had that many jokers before? Edit: Tom Parker had 60 jokers ..... in 2021. Not a good omen.
YoungWillz 21,035 Posted January 23, 2023 I see all the credited deaths have been wiped from their bios. Feel for you @gcreptile, won't be a huge job re-doing them at the moment, frustrating I guess, but soon all will be resolved. Good luck!

Please complain (to me) if you still can't find your team. Hopefully, the two Pazuzu teams are the only ones missing now. Yeah I can’t find mine. I think I should wait with the scores until all the teams are in. Not today, but maybe tomorrow or wednesday. Maybe we have to change the submission file. Admittedly, this year was an extraordinary challenge, but we probably need more subs, a 2nd joker preference, and already the forms to enter teams two and three, so we know where to look.

Grim Up North 3,725 Posted January 23, 2023 37 minutes ago, gcreptile said: and already the forms to enter teams two and three, so we know where to look. The subs and second joker preference definitely good ideas - I would just suggest the rule that the joker drops down one in case of death so your team should effectively be ranked in your preference - or at least first two or three spots. Regarding the form even if it was laid out as standard teams one, two and three on each tab you would still have to remember to reopen rather than close after submitting the first team - care is difficult with such high volumes and so it's very easy not to check the extra tabs when most extra tabs are blank - the more foolproof way might be to say to everyone - one email, one form, one entry. Obviously up to what @banana thinks but that would be my view.

maryportfuncity 10,645 Posted January 23, 2023 Awesome work, really appreciate the undertaking (heh heh) that keeps this Rolls Royce of pools running. Somewhat amazed I've got sole dibs on Billy Dib, though not surprised the leader of ISIS is no longer available as a unique pick. Could that be a winning smile from Billy? ? So it's a case of a death that got known just in time. A substitution will be used. Katsumi Tezuka stays though...whoever picks him knows what they are getting into... I corrected the birthdays - finally. Hopefully, it carries over into future years, lol.

msc 18,439 Posted January 23, 2023 Just to add that all 3 of my teams are in perfect working order, thanks. Re multiple teams, my 2 extra teams are just attempts to bung 40 notable old names on the DDP so they don't become List of the Missed. I admit I also try to focus on "who would be a fun obit to research for DI should this person die" too.

YoungWillz 21,035 Posted January 24, 2023 Pat Priest is listed correctly for two teams under Pat Priest: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_P.html#priesp but incorrectly also listed under Pat Preist as a unique for Syndication Zombies: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_P.html#preistp023 So another merge required @gcreptile.
