FYI …  a-ha topped the USA charts Oct 1985, which would have pitted it against the previous poll winners of 1984-85.  It was released as a single August 1985, so it’s interesting it took half a year to catch on in the U.K.  It could be that it was (possibly) the third single released from Hunting High and Low in the U.K., whereas it was the second single here in the States.
