Twitter account of Criterion Daily, a cinema-related site, reporting the death of actress Lelia Goldoni at age 86. Goldoni 's career spanned nearly seven decades. She appeared in movies including 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore' and 'The Italian Job', in addition to having numerous TV movie and episodic credits.

It was either this category or 'Reality TV' or the Deaths of 2023. HGTV is television, but I suppose Hollywood is stretching it a bit. Maybe 'Presenters' would've been better, now that I think of it.

The Exorcist was released 50 years ago this Boxing Day.

The director, the cinematographer and two of the cast members have died this year.

Burstyn (91), Winn (80), Blair (64) and Mitchell (probably in her 80s) are the last four credited cast members still living. One of the editors, Bud S. Smith is still with us, despite surviving cancer. Another, Norman Gay, may still be alive but I can't find any info on him.

Burstyn seems to be in great health, and is reprising her role of Chris MacNeil in the director sequel to The Exorcist, due for release in October!

One of the editors, Norman Gay, may still be living too but I can't find any info on him.

The film's primary editor was Bud S. Smith (born 1935), who for some reason isn't listed on the Wikipedia infobox. Smith and Friedkin also worked together on Sorcerer and To Live and Die in L.A.

 

Bud is in relatively good health, but part of his tongue was removed as a result of cancer a few years back.

Smith was born in 1935 (date uncertain), and survived a serious battle with tongue cancer. 

He isn't listed on IMDb either strangely, but I see he was nominated for an Oscar for it. Odd.
