James Earl Jones

Funnily enough, it was only yesterday I was reading about a film he starred in called The Man, where he plays a black President of the United States (albeit by a curious route) decades before Barack Obama. :rip:

Saddest death of the year by far for me. This man was the voice of so many great films of my childhood.

Wow, RIP. And what an embarrassing miss for the list. Y'all really bet on Dick Van Dyke (who literally won an Emmy last night) over James, smh.

Really sad. So far, my only four shadow list hits have all been pretty sad.

This one hits hard. One voice I truly am going to miss. Not just as the voice of DF or Mufasa in the Lion King but also as an actor in Coming to America or the Jack Ryan series.

Unmistaken and eternally a Legend!!

The fact that James Earl Jones doesn't have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is wild.

At least he made it as a Disney Legend.

Whilst Harrison Ford appears on it twice - there was a silent era actor with the same name.

Back in the day when they gave it out for doing something meaningful to the company (or a part of the company it acquired), instead of bullshit PR reasons.

What a loss. Superb actor and that voice will live on forever. (Not least because Disney own his voice for Darth Vader purposes). RIP James.

I actually think it's an incredibly interesting fact. They talked about it on QI as well.

Each to their own. Nothing to do with James Earl Jones though.

He might have rejected it on cost grounds because it is quite expensive to have and maintain a star on the walk of Fame.

I just realized that a friend of mine worked with him on a TV movie quite a while ago. From what I recall he said that JEJ was a nice man, who was very dedicated to his work.
