Danny Laine, finally got his Wings.

Mull of Kintyre was the first single I owned. Thought of it nothing but a McCartney vehicle but now know he wrote it. In all honesty I loved the b-side even more; Girlschool.

So now McCartney becomes another candidate for my 2024 theme list last ones.

Don't think he's eligible yet. Denny Seiwell (the original drummer) is still alive at 80.

Wasn't he eligible as the last original Beatles (or The Silver Beetles as they were called) member ever since George Harrison died?

One school of opinion is that her cover art did her few favours when it came to being taken seriously

DARN!
Gives me a good excuse to post a Schoolhouse Rock classic.

RIP Essra

Detroit music icon Amp Fiddler dead at around 65ish. One-time member of Parliament who went on to become the mentor to a huge heap of music figures from the city, perhaps most notably J-Dilla and Moodyman.

Dionne Warwick in a wheelchair at the Kennedy Center honors.

Could be for really any reason. Also why the heck did it take this long for Queen Latifah to get one? I thought it would have happened with a friendly push under Obama considering how he seemed to appreciate her work quite a bit.

Spoiler

She has just been unmasked on the British Masked Singer. Filmed in October I think. Walked slowly but able to do so and obliviously fit enough back then to fly to London and perform.

She seems pretty healthy for an 83 year old. Still, hadn't seen her in a wheelchair until recently but upon googling recent pics, she's been using one for a bit now.

She still performs, as far as I'm aware, and was making new music just a couple years ago.

Spoiler

So it was probably a comfort/logistics measure than a health one...
