Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted August 4, 2016 Shekau claims Barnawi has taken control of Boko Haram as part of a "coup", possibly orchestrated by members who wish to see the group submerged fully into Isis. Internecine fighting between the world's deadliest terror organisation is exactly what central Africa needs to restore stability right now.
guylevesque 18 Posted August 23, 2016 Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram, says in new unverified video that the end has come for him in his fight and that Boko Haram should surrender. http://www.bellanaija.com/2016/03/for-me-the-end-has-come-watch-boko-haram-leader-abubakar-shekaus-new-video/(Not the most reliable source, but there are others. BBC report on new leader being announced, but no information on Shekau who is in the DDP this year. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-36963711 Missing in action yet again? Some newspapers, citing military claims, are reporting that Abubakar Shekau was killed along with top commanders in a series of air strikes. There are conflictlictual reports: some media are reporting his death while others instead mention that he has been gravely wounded. This is the third time that his death was reported so caution is always good. http://www.independent.ie/world-news/africa/boko-haram-leader-abubakar-shekau-fatally-wounded-in-nigerian-army-air-strike-34987709.html Army tweet
Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted August 27, 2016 If I had to pick an Isis candidate for a dead pool team right now, Tamim Chowdhury, now known as Abū Ibrāhīm al-Hanīf, would be my pick. He's the emir of the Bangladeshi branch of Isis, is widely suspected of being the man behind the Dhaka Cafe attacks and has apparently fled to India. Which strikes me as a [swearword this site's filter won't let me use] stupid place to run to. You're welcome.

DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted September 8, 2016 Now for some more local terrorism news... UVF supergrass and dodgy DDP pick Gary Haggarty, who was supposed to be dying of bowel cancer, has had 3 criminal charges he currently faces dropped and now all he needs to do is explain away the remaining 209 alleged offences, including: Five murders, 31 conspiracy to murder and six attempted murders. Four kidnappings, six false imprisonment and five hijacking. Twelve possessing explosives with intent to endanger life and 47 counts of having a firearm with intent. Eighteen charges of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Three counts of arson, conspiracy to defraud and concealing the proceeds of criminal conduct. Two charges each of directing terrorism and belonging to a proscribed organisation. Seven counts of possessing money or property for the purposes of terrorism. There was no mention of his health in the report. However, if he was really ill, I doubt the courts would be burdening themselves which this much admin. Mind, someone could still track Haggarty down and shoot him, so there is still hope. (If it wasn't against the DDP rules, I might try and do it myself as it would be a game changer!)
