RadGuy 1,614 Posted June 29, 2017 If Iran is confirming it too, my guess is ISIS will cave in within a few hours. June 30th.

RadGuy 1,614 Posted June 30, 2017 Not the best source, but apparently a top ISIS leader delivered a sermon today that suggested al-Baghdadi was dead.
Joey Russ 7,220 Posted June 30, 2017 Wikipedia now has him as dead.
LilyForrester 81 Posted June 30, 2017 This is really annoying, we all know he's dead but can't cross him off since no source reporting it is reputable enough yet.

msc 18,436 Posted June 30, 2017 Bit selfish. Some of us are waiting on the points. Oh, and the whole middle east probably, for less selfish reasons, I guess...

Joey Russ 7,220 Posted July 2, 2017 I think this might confirm our thoughts on Al-Baghdadi. But then why are no major newspapers running it?
drol 11,921 Posted July 2, 2017 I've always said middle East sources are not reliable. When Reuters will announce it it will be true, till then it's nothing.
deadsox 894 Posted July 2, 2017 http://www.iraqinews.com/iraq-war/islamic-state-execute-preacher-baghdadis-death-sermon/ This may have a dampening effect on getting ISIS to declare that Abu Bakr al Baghdadi is dead.
Joey Russ 7,220 Posted July 2, 2017 That's what I'm getting at as well. Another source states that anyone who hints at Al-Baghdadi's death will get 50 lashes. I'm thinking he's legitimately dead, but their not going to confirm it cause they know that by announcing his death, it'll weaken Isis. Which is a huge damn shame for DDP purposes, because if Russia confirms he's dead, but ISIS does not, that means no DDP points...

I don't think that even mad dogs like ISIS can keep everyone in the dark forever. They are probably trying to "control the message" until they have a successor picked out. I can't understand why anybody would want to work for these folks though.
