Ronnie Biggs

Recommended Posts

Well perhaps the 8.57 from King's Cross :) would be a great way to go that would the great train robber splatted into a thousand pieces by a national express high speed train.

He'd be chuffed to bits.

It'll be one way he can express himself

An apt death for someone brought up on the wrong side of the tracks...

Off the rails then?

But not half as bad as Jack Straw now looks.

"You look as bad as I feel"

That would make an iconic poster; a sort of "tennis girl scratching bum" for every alcoholic wannabe criminal's bathroom wall, just above the toilet.

Alternative captions: "Crime Pays" "Hangovers... sh*t, aren't they?" "Adult single to Rio please, conductor" "Everybody do the locomotion. Ok, maybe just a bowel motion" etc. bored now.

His son says that he has served his time, bollox he only served a couple of months before doing a body swerve down to Brazil where he took the p!ss out of this country before coming back when he wanted free hospital treatment.

Let him rot, and hopefully he will become number 6 this year.

So much for the stiff (no pun intended) upper lip of the British. Now, probably via catheter, the country is taking the p!ss out of him. :referee:

Anyone who is of Ronnie Biggs age thinks that he is a role model and a hero.

At the time Ronnie escaped prison and made it to Brazil, all the talk was of

how great he was and how everyone's hopes were with him that he have

a great life. Afterall, he had ' stolen ' money that was NOT directly out

of any one person's pocket.

Ronnie deserves all the credit he gets, people cried.

Except that today's younger lot don't seem to know anything about Ronnie.

Long live Ronnie. Long live Ronnie.

ps: Note that he lived it high on the hog while he was healthy and that's

all that counts.

Forever and Ever

Son just called to the hospital to see the old timer, maybe for the last time. Looks like he's on borrowed or even robbed time now. And I'm steeling myself for the announcement.

Either his son just gave an Oscar-worthy performance or this is the real deal. A recurrence of pneumonia plus his broken hip and other ailments make me think that he's the next DeathList casualty. I used to think Biggs was the ultimate tease and that his family was exaggerating his condition, but I don't believe that any more.

Radio 5 live reporting along the line that Jack Straw is "effectively" setting Biggs free.

Cut and Paste:-

Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs has been granted release from his prison sentence on compassionate grounds, Justice Secretary Jack Straw said.

The 79-year-old inmate at Norwich Prison was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in June suffering from a chest infection.

He was refused parole by Justice Secretary Jack Straw last month.

Mr Straw rejected a recommendation by the Parole Board which said the risk Biggs posed was "manageable".

On Radio 4 news this evening (read by a very healthy sounding Rory Morrison btw) a doctor was saying there was virtually no hope that Biggs would recover from his present bout of ill health and was talking of a life expectancy in days rather weeks or months. I'm still not convinced he won't be around for Christmas dinner.

Well that must mean that he's about to 'cop' it. Looks like Deathlist have him bang to rights.
