Phantom 2,533 Posted April 11, 2008 Wikipedia news is reporting him dead. Is somebody bullshitting us? Sometimes Wikipedia is like a bitch with no reason. It's a pre-drafted obit. If you notice on the first line Michael Foot, Former leader of the United Kingdom Opposition from 1980-1983 has died today at the age of AGE. The cause of death was announced as CAUSEOFDEATH. There's no age listed and no cause of death
Banshees Scream 110 Posted April 11, 2008 It must have been edited within the passed ten minutes. It didn't say 'Invalid Time' when I originally posted it. So it's false alarm.
Phantom 2,533 Posted April 11, 2008 It must have been edited within the passed ten minutes. It didn't say 'Invalid Time' when I originally posted it. So it's false alarm. Must have been someone hacking into it. A couple of weeks ago someone was bored and put Fidel Castro down as having commited suicide

Guest The Spirit of Keith Moon Posted October 30, 2008 Does anybody know where Micheal Foot lives? Micheal Foot? Nope, sorry. Michael Foot? Ah! Now that's a different story. And I know where you live Debra, and everyone else for that matter. Unfortunately, I am bound by the laws of heaven to keep stum. 'Stum', your proof-reading omnipotence? Surely you mean 'Schtum'??? Reassuring to know it's not just us mere mortals who succumb to the odd bouts of typographical error. Almost makes me believe in you. However, I've no doubt Michael Foot knows where I live; he's my landlord.
halleluyahjohntudor 5 Posted October 30, 2008 I've no doubt Michael Foot knows where I live; he's my landlord. That statement might be invalidated by one of two hypotheses: 1) Michael Foot is the titular proprietor of the premises which you occpy, but due to health problems has relinquished control of a property empire which he previously accumulated (in defiance of all socialist principles), and the same health impairment renders him incapable of remembering where you live; 2) Michael Foot is incredibly alert, considering his age, but owns so many properties that he cannot be expected to know the precise residence of each of his tenants. Dave to the Grave 11 Posted November 8, 2008 An interview here. He stumbles a bit. It would appear he was 25 years ahead of his time. 'In 1983 Michael Foot led Labour into a general election with a manifesto dubbed "the longest suicide note in history". One proposal, to nationalise banks, seems rather prescient'

time 8,599 Posted March 3, 2010 One person picked Foot for the 2nd success in the poll, but didn't reveal their identity in the thread. Anyway, congratulations whoever you are.
VSBfromH 74 Posted March 3, 2010 This link from The Times rather unfortunately shows the following quote as a "comment" on the same page: "He's everything we are supposed to dislike. He’s a squatter, a gypsy, a drug-pusher and a wastrel" I thought that seemed a bit harsh until I realised it was a link to a completely different story! Blartman 2 Posted March 3, 2010 Out of interest, how come Salinger gets a picture from when he was famous, but poor Michael gets a photo from just after he died?
Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted March 3, 2010 Wahey, points two days in a row! Now who's going to make it a hat-trick for me?
Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted March 3, 2010 Out of interest, how come Salinger gets a picture from when he was famous, but poor Michael gets a photo from just after he died? Salinger was pretty much a recluse. Do any later photographs of him exist? The "Agent Boot" KGB stories should be worth a read when they come out!
