RadGuy 1,614 Posted November 19, 2016 First flurries happened in the Chicago area this morning. They were part of a storm system that brought blizzard conditions and a foot of snow to parts of the Dakotas, Minnesota and is now heading towards the East Coast. We're also getting our first freeze tonight.

rockhopper penguin 2,265 Posted November 21, 2016 Whilst we worry about a bit of rain, things could get a whole lot damper in Japan http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-38059371
Deathray 2,940 Posted November 22, 2016 Whilst we worry about a bit of rain, things could get a whole lot damper in Japan http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-38059371 With all due respect, this is a hell of a lot more than a bit of rain. One hell of a storm and still showing no signs of letting up.

RadGuy 1,614 Posted December 23, 2016 Looks like we're getting a White Christmas in Chicago. We got a foot and a half of snow this December in three separate storms, and last week it was extremely cold every day, with many nights in the negatives. The past few days it's been a little above freezing, and it'll be like this until Christmas, so the snow has been very slowly melting away. But it's also going to snow tonight, so any damage done will be reversed.
charon 4,943 Posted December 23, 2016 Gusting 70+mph today, still is. But it gave me a delima re a boy I know, whether to make him Death race material. Given it is gonna be like this into the New Year, it is just a question of he makes the starting gun. Yip, he fired up a kayak.

Last night, 5 inches of lake-effect. Currently at 5:30AM it's still falling, visibility is pretty low, and it's windy. The fucking bastards at my district better call a snow day.

By the time the cloud mass gets over the Atlantic it would have warmed up. Chances are you would get heavy rain.

CarolAnn 926 Posted March 27, 2017 So, a whole lot of these fell on my town last night... ...and then it looked like this... ...and there was one of these a little north. Fun night. At the moment it's clear, blue skies, fluffy white clouds....deception on the hoof. More is coming.
