Deathray 2,942 Posted February 16, 2017 George Cohen willing to donate brain for dementia research: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/pa/article-4230540/World-Cup-winner-George-Cohen-willing-donate-brain-dementia-research.html How will he live without a brain? [insert obvious riposte here]. I knew it, but expected MK/Deathray to answer. Rude.

Anyhow, with all the news of frail health among the 66 crew, they might wind up all going in quick succession. Nobby can't have long surely.

Clorox Bleachman 2,477 Posted May 16, 2018 Does this poll restart every time one of them dies? In that instance, I'm not voting but Geoff Hurst will be the last survivor of the bunch.

maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted May 17, 2018 Aye, Wilson fair fucked with the form book as expressed in the votes Stiles next, surely Re Banks - as the one who headed balls the least I wouldn't be surprised if his existence - cancer battle aside - outstrips most of his former team mates. Last one to go IMHO may well be Sir Bobby.

msc 18,534 Posted June 6, 2018 tbh Jack Charlton looks a lot better in those photos than I'd have thought going off health rumours. Banks looks like an 80 year old who has struggled with cancer in recent past. In general Geoff Hurst seems to be as good tip for last man standing as Sir Bobby C. QTips 24 Posted July 7, 2018 When England win next Sunday a, "The Boys of '18" thread will be required. With pole for last man standing. It will be a long term game, short of a plane crash occuring with returning heros!
QTips 24 Posted July 7, 2018 Why is Sir Bobby watching tennis? Surely down the pub with a pint watch the lads is a better plan?
YoungWillz 21,178 Posted July 11, 2018 George Cohen turned up on the news there pre England/Croatia. Looks fine, sounds lucid. Could be the last one standing. (Hope I've not cursed him....)

(Hope I've not cursed him....) Gordon Banks was on Radio 4 yesterday, hinted that FIFA and the FA may look at flying the surviving members of the squad who are able to go to Russia out. Interesting to think who of the squad could actually go? I count 6 of the 11 could attend? Gordon Banks George Cohen Jack Charlton Bobby Charlton Geoff Hurst Roger Hunt Martin Peters and Nobby Stiles would possibly be too ill (although not impossible) and Bobby Moore, Ray Wilson and Alan Ball are dead.
