Sir Creep 7,070 Posted April 22, 2018 So way back when I got married and like the Brady Bunch we each brought a dog into the relationship. Mine died 2004. So 13+ years ago my then wife's dog died, and I laid down the law 'no new dogs' for a while cuz we can't travel etc. Which meant two days later we had a lab-shepherd mix named Ruby. Ex-wife posted that Ruby died yesterday, 13+ years. She was a good girl -- dog wasn't bad either. Anyway, Ruby the Thug as I called her had a good run. RIP. Neither of them really want him, so our family is now getting him. His name is Scamp, and he’s a very lovely dog. He had a wonderful 7 and a half years but his health was declining in recent weeks, and he took a drastic downturn today. First couple of years we barely saw her since she was always off on adventures and catching all sorts of animals. As she grew older she began to appreciate the luxuries of life indoors more and more, often allowed to stay inside during the evenings. Last month she had her 17th birthday and although she had some problems such as weight loss, I could still see her reach 18, let alone 2022. The last couple of days she went downhill quickly, not running anymore, eating less and often failing at jumping. Mom found her this morning, laying peacefully in her blanket. Only "good" I can think of is that she didn't suffer needlessly and we didn't have to let the vet put her down. She will be deeply missed, RIP Lisa 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
