Toast 16,140 Posted November 6, 2016 Quite funny reading the neighbouring village FB page last night. Lots of people complaining about fireworks On November 5th  ? Why not ? It is a more than questionable Day. When I was a child I was told that it was about the Gunpowder Plot, in which Guy Fawkes had tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Because my Dad was always moaning about the Government, I assumed that we were celebrating the fact that someone had had a go It was years before I realised that we were supposed to be celebrating the plot being foiled. Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted November 6, 2016 To mark the 400th anniversary in 2005, Richard Hammond made a programme called The Gunpowder Plot: Exploding The Legend, whereby they reconstructed the Houses of Parliament building as it was in 1605 and then blew it up using gunpowder. Here's the whole program but linked so as to start towards the end and the big bang. http://youtu.be/zI9WMJX85Eg?t=3122
YoungWillz 21,044 Posted November 8, 2016 At the Glasgow Hydro tonight to see Monday Night Raw. Ric Flair and Mick Foley were absent, but I don't set much store by their non-appearance. Back there again Tuesday evening for the taping of Smackdown.
Smackdown was full of 90 second matches. Women's Championship, Styles vs Ambrose was AWESOME, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan were there and amazing, otherwise incredibly disappointing overall. Raw wins. And you can't teach that. How you doing?

charon 4,943 Posted November 15, 2016 The Isle of Man being the Western headquarters for Isis is plausible though, you gotta admit that Handy. All the foreigners descend for months of Law breaking in their sooped up ve-hick-les, it's too cold for a turban roon the coupon so they use hard, insulated ones, and parents everywhere try to stop the prepubescent lasses trying en masse to get there by hook or crook to become the wife of some brave jibikist. And Ally's Snackbar is the cry of choice when in need of spiritual nourishment. They set up some weird Caliphate away from the UK plus loads of gruesome deaths with some beheadings every Summer. Fits like a fuckin glove.

DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted November 15, 2016 Lundy Island, which I can see from my house (in daylight) might be a more appropriate home for ISIS, according to this scurrilously scaremongering article in the Daily Express.
