In 2018 when Ken Dodd died we all discussed it. Names mentioned included Alan Bates, Dudley Moore, David Mackay, Jeffrey Tate, Naim Dangoor, Robert Stephens and the aforementioned Tam Galbraith as people who died in under six months (well under in some cases) of being announced.

 

But @time brought up Sir Henry Cotton, 3 time Open winning Golfer, who died nine days BEFORE his knighthood was publicly announced, having agreed to it and died before it could be made public!

Latest update on Deborah James.Lucid but getting physically weaker agitated incontinent and self reports being " exhausted sick and in pain and I can`t move" . She says she is determined not to die over the jubilee weekend as doesn`t want Meghan making the front page when she goes.

 

Most telling line is the  disclosure of the prognosis she was given when put under palliative care nearly a month ago and  at the time said she didn`t know how long she had left. In reality she was told

 

“I was given days, to a week, to live when I left the hospital. But I’m still here."

 

Sounds cruel but I think her passing would be a happy release at this stage.

He was co-presenter on  South Today for a while a few years ago, with regular presenter Sally Taylor. You can guess what they went with!

 

I also remember him doing football reports on Grandstand (usually Leeds iirc).

Nope. Guardian obits is the opposite. Literally dozens of them do obituaries. Each of their obit writers specialises in a certain field and writes elsewhere for the publication (i.e. they don't just write obituaries all day).
