Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Recommended Posts

In terms of deadpooling, (probably) a big bucket of nothing. I guess he had a fall or something like that. I've been amazed how he manages to keep standing at long public events. Every other man of his age at least uses a cane. Now he probably had weak legs one evening and thinks that it all goes downhill from there.

The Metro has done a video montage of Phil's greatest hits. Some I had not seen before. Well worth a couple of minutes of your time. We will never see the like of him again! Legend! lol

Sadly his finest moment isn't recorded. Princess Elizabeth brings Philip up to Balmoral to meet her dad for the first time. Entire room full of court hangers-on. Here comes George VI in full kilt. Philip sees him, and curtseys to the King.  :D

He is 95 FFS and will only retire at 96 - most people retire at 65 - 70 and are dead or in a retirement home by 95 only able to walk with aid of a zimmer frame.

At some point if he lived to 100 he would only be able to fulfil duties being pushed around in a wheelchair and there is simply no need for him to do that when he has a family full of people capable of cutting ribbons (although someone will have to step up to the plate on the casual racism).

So for sure he is going to die soon, he's 95, but the only thing that gives food for suspicions about his health is the urgency with which this has been done.

Anyhow he's not even retiring until the autumn so I'm not panicking about my inverse dead pool team yet.

Yes, but that is what is so strange about it.

Documentary about that a few years back, Meet the Natives, on Channel 4. The Brits being the natives.

He jokes about it today:

"When a well-wisher expressed sadness at his decision to "stand down," Philip joked back: "I can't stand up much longer.""

Some stonking Phil one-liners in yesterday's press. I didn't realise he once met a blind woman with a guide dog and jokingly told her there were now special dogs being bred to do the eating of anorexics!

Classic

Recent picture from 'The Sun'. He doesn't look great.

Yeah he doesn`t look great but I think that is a bad angle.Yes he is frail but is as fit as most 80  odd year old men.If I am as mobile as him a month shy of 96 I would be happy.

Looks very bad, same purple complexion that Bush has.

Oh dear, I do hope that's just a bad angle but if the Bush-like complexion we can see here is accurate he may be in for a more rapid deterioration than I originally thought. That's the first time I've seen him look his age too.

He looks much better in the video below, though.

Has had that look for a while now.Still getting about unaided.I reckon his retirement is just because he has had enough and is getting old rather there being  pressing health issue.
