Lol, I think @gcreptile you need to give yourself a Dunn emoji as @RetroGamer47 already reported this death in the Hollywood Possibilities thread.

And that's not that hell of a significant death, TBH.

Well, I'll be back from holiday tomorrow, and my posting should improve. I swear I don't have dementia...

John Amos and James Earl Jones starred together in Coming to America.

Deaths happen in 3s...

Damn John Amos gone too. Kris Kristofferson, John Ashton, Dikembe Mutombo, Pete Rose, Frank Fritz from American Pickers, and now John fucking Amos…past four or five days have been busier in the US then the whole year.

Considering what happened at the end of Season 5, I am pretty sure he wasn't going to be a part of any revival regardless.

It didn't exclude him playing a different character though. Or Sorkin making one of his inspired decisions and outright ignoring that happening. Which considering how well he holds everything after season 4... Wasn't exactly impossible.

Outside of his film's sequel, he hasn't really acted consistently (or at all) since well before the pandemic. Next major form-spotting opportunity seem to be with Jay Leno at a talk in January.

Yeah, saw this this morning on The Hollywood Reporter.

Family rifts are not uncommon, but not informing other members of a passing is really low.

Terrible developments. Hopefully there's an investigation if these allegations are anywhere near true.

And if we are to believe her, she didn't even know her own father had died for over a month?

Ya Comped I honestly don’t know bro. Everything everyone says is to be trusted and face value when it comes to deaths of an extraordinary famous. They are more likely to ramble nonsenses if it gets them fame!

I recognise it.

My wife and father in law had an uncle they adored and it was mutual. It was also a rare bond in that side of the family where vendettas and grudges prevail. (I should point out that he lived a fair distance away and didn't cope well with modern technology so we usually contacted each other with visits and hadn't visited that summer as he was recovering from chemo and needed the rest.) He was suffering from cancer when he took a sudden illness and died in 2022. His wife was older and quite frail so another aunt told her she would let the rest of the family know.

The widow contacted us by letter two months later, to say how sorry she was we'd missed the funeral. I then had to tell my father in law that the father figure in his life (his own dad ran out on the family to shack up with a teenager back in the sixties and refuses to have anything to do with his blood relations) had died. The aforementioned aunt had deliberately blocked us from knowing.

And that's how one of the nicest, genuinely class acts I've met had neither of the two people in his family he was closest to at his funeral.

Frankly, I will never forgive this.
