I shall be during some back office work this weekend in preparation for next year. Just released that presenting pages without picture links might be difficult as it's embedded in the hta/database, unless I can find some way of programming to produce a default link to each celeb which would be covered by just one picture or, alternatively removing the instruction without cocking the whole thing up!

The team of the month for October was Sir Candy All Stars with 22 points. It seems they had 2 hits for October, Jorge Batlle Ibanez (88 years old + unique + unnatural = 12 points) and Andrezj Wajda (90 years old = 5 points). So my reckoning has them on 17 for the month. Their overall score for the year is 45 with their previous hits being Joey Feek (10) and Martin Crowe (J; 18) so (assuming 17 from October), 45 is correct.

 

I bring this up because I was eagerly awaiting my 15 minutes (or should that be nanoseconds?) of fame for my team Pity da Foolz picking up 20 points with crowd favourite Bhumibol and obscure Australian cricketer Johnny Gleeson falling off their respective perches.

 

I am asking publicly as I wanted to open the can of worms regarding the unnatural bonus for Jorge Batlle Ibanez. He died from a cerebral haemorrhage after fainting at some function or another. I guess you could consider this an accidental death (if the haemorrhage was a result of the fall), but I think it is probable that the fainting was a result of the haemorrhage (eg aneurysm) which in my mind makes it a natural causes death. Is there an official coroner for DDP?

How do you think they broke that there hip? I should hope we aren't awarding points for falling as an unnatural event or act. I suppose choking would be unnatural under that definition.

A fall can certainly be accidental, and therefore unnatural.

If someone trips and falls down the stairs and sustains a fatal bang on the head, that's unnatural.

If they suffer an aneurysm, a stroke or whatever, which causes them to fall, it's probably a natural death.

Its not 'natural' to die from falling down, otherwise I'd have been dead years ago. Similarly choking (though others are better qualified to comment on this than me).

Having successfully experimented with adding the "Drop 40" option, it may be possible to subdivide the unnatural deaths to a lesser scoring "fall" and then the rest (murder, suicide, drones etc).
