Reaper is going to reap! Couldn't happen to a more deserving self-entitled twat. Of course I'm reserving my choons for Norman, Douglas, Nigel etc.

Bonsor along with many of his ilk was washed away in the Labour landslide of 1997.

Of interest, heir apparent to the baronetcy is Alexander Cosmo Walrond Bonsor (b. 1976).

Upminster one of the few genuine Tory safe seats in London. Labour briefly held it in 1997 before the Tories took it back in 2001 and have dominated ever since.

Bonsor was replaced post-election as minister by Tony Lloyd, who is now the Rochdale MP after ousting the horrible Simon Danczuk. (Who knew you could make being the guy "better than your predecessor" a career choice?) Worth recalling Lloyd having problems with cancer at the moment.

Given that a previous Rochdale MP was Cyril Smith, you could argue that Danczuk was also a relative improvement on what came before. At this rate, maybe in a couple of decades Rochdale will have the best MP?

Oceania's Political Frailty, list of Oceanian leaders by birth year (Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings...) born in and after 1916, plus honorary mentions who lived to the 2000s and have lead a country in Oceania before the day this list was posted. Oceanian politicians (excluding NZ and Australia) tend to die young, good picks for pools.

Bold is used to mark national founders, dictators and monarchs.

Rabbie Namaliu (1947-) Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea 1988-1992

Oceanians have no staying in power. Except the ones from New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea as well as some ancient political rolling stones such as Vanuatu's Sokomanu and Samoa's Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi.

Rabbie Namaliu is being reported dead from a heart attack in some places, but nothing terribly official as yet: https://www.facebook.com/South.Pacific.Post/

Jordi Pujol (1930) President of the Government of Catalonia 1980-2003. Ancient and doesn't look healthy.

Former Catalonia Govt President Jordi Pujol (predecessor of longtime dementia sufferer Pasqual Maragall) suffered a stroke in September at a book presentation and underwent brain surgery, but apparently he has "perfectly recovered". He's now the second-oldest President of a Spanish Autonomous Community, Jeroni Albertí Picornell of Balearic Islands is a bit older at 95.

Don't think so. He's Catalan, isn't he?  Catalan J is pronounced like a French J.  As in Jacques.

Leader of the Suffolk County Lib Dems, Caroline Page, has been suffering from terminal lung cancer for a while and has recently had a bout of hospitalisations. She is wheelchair bound and needs an oxygen tank.

Unique DDP pick for me, which I'm hoping she'll QO considering most QO sources covered her diagnosis due to it being delayed by the pandemic.

Japanese media is reporting that Tomiichi Murayama won't attend Shinzo Abe's funeral tomorrow apparently due to "poor physical condition".

Tomiichi Murayama makes rare public appearance and actually looks great. Not as great as he did over a year ago, but great for 99.

I expect he'll outlive Manolic, Cesar YU (if he's still alive - I'd say there's a chance he'll die off-radar), Siphandone & the other 1924 cohort and become the undisputed oldest living state leader. But those three and Carter have proven to be very tough.

Cui Naifu, China's Minister of Civil Affairs 1982-1993 dead at 94/95. As far as I know he was at the time of his death one of the oldest living Chinese ministers...The older ones according to Wikipedia are Song Ping (105), Zou Yu (102), Zheng Tuobin (99), He Jingzhi (98), Wang Bingqian (97), Zou Jiahua (96), depending on when Cui Naifu was born maybe also Zhu Rongji (94), Yang Zhenhuai 杨振怀 (94) and Lü Peijian (94). Zhenhuai and Peijian are the only ones not mentioned here before.

Edit: There's also Lin Zongtang 林宗棠 (96), former Minister of the Aerospace Industry and Huan Yicheng 黄毅诚 (96) Energy Minister and great friend of Russia.

Oommen Chandy stable and off oxygen support. Wants "more treatment for his throat issue"...

Shibu Soren stable. Suffering from CKD complications, mild pulmonary edema, lower respiratory tract infection and kidney infection. And he's also been rumored to suffer from dementia for the last 13 years.

More controversy on Oommen Chandy's health condition:

https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/former-cm-s-brother-requests-medical-board-to-monitor-oommen-chandy-s-health-during-bengaluru-treatment-101681413622353.html

He's been in hospital for treatment for around two months now and allegedly only left for an easter trip. His brother and some of his family claim he isn't receiving proper treatments for his throat cancer but instead "Christian spiritual healing". By far the most boring case of Indian politician with endless health issues...atleast the other ones haven't had Schrödinger's terminal and curable cancer.

Any one here know how long Irish President Michael D. Higgins has been using a walking stick, I noticed it in some of the pictures of Biden's big Irish vacation but don't know if this is something new for him.

You need bury to spell Bradbury.

Former Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, who established the state’s first-in-the-nation system of voting by mail, died Friday. He was 73.

Bradbury also advocated for environmental issues and ran for governor, all while battling multiple sclerosis for more than 40 years. He died after unexpected medical complications during a six-month, around-the-world cruise.
