(The rate so far this year having been one death every 19 days). Imho, once you factor in winter mortality and the COVID effect, the odds on a new record have shifted to better than even. Update to this with our 15th death: 62 days left in the year, average of one death every 20.7 days needed to get a new record. Seems unlikely, but winter ❄️ mortality plus second wave of COVID means probably not that unlikely. Oh, and the "total years on Death List of those that have died in the year" record is now thoroughly broken with a full two winter months to go.

Spade_Cooley 5,502 Posted November 28, 2020 Even checking for colonial babbies who were born there when it was called Zanzibar, no names come up. April Olrich, ballerina and character actress who died in 2014, wasn't a DDP pick, neither was Rob-Roy-actor-turned-Labour MP Andrew Faulds, who went in 2000. The largest "red rows" (consecutive listings all dying) were in 2017, with the deaths of the bottom 4, Joost van der Westhuisen, Mary Tyler Moore, Errol Christie and Ian Brady, as well as 2-5 dying this year. Time for a bit of an expansion to this, albeit late. A new "red row" record is once again from this year, 24-27 (Stiles, Mubarak, P-Orridge, Moss) The longest time between two deaths is from 1990-1992, with 676 days between Jill Ireland and Jim Joel. The longest time between two deaths in one year is 2011, with 153 days between Betty Ford and Harry Morgan. Obviously, the last one could be wrong as we lost the 1988 deathlist. Why not make a list of names that were picked by the winning team of each year. Doesn’t matter if they died that year, lived, didn’t get a QO, or (in one case) die before ddp action but wasn’t known until afterwards. As long as they appear on the winning team as mentioned on the ddp site (so no Mark Crispin, for example), they’re fine. So the list goes as follows... 1. John Andretti 2. Frankie Banali Kidding.
