It is probably going to be either of them.

AA Gill is that a form of nomative determinism? Drinks like a fish then gets sober?

I was most surprised to discover Lardy has curtains.

If you read his Wikipedia biography all he does is slag off different peoples and places like the Welsh and the Manx people and generally get himself into trouble by being politically incorrect and pissing people off.

US Presidential material?

AA Gill has "the full English" of cancer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38042679

I'm like ok who TF is AA Gill.

A restaurant critic. Thread-worthiness bar has been lowered once again.

SC

But he is a huge name in Britain. Sure, he would never make an American based death list cause he isn't famous enough in the us. But he is a household name in Britain and definitely famous enough. Besides, since you were complaining that the likes of Joey Feek didn't make the list this year, I don't see why your complaining about AA Gill, who's definitely more famous than her.

He is a big figure in Britain.Extremely well known for his writing and critique.Would unquestionably get an obit in every major news publication in Britain and his death would make the news bulletins almost certainly.I am trying to think of an American equivalent but I can`t.

American equivalent - someone like Richard Blackwell?

I don't think their is an American equivalent ,even the most respected/known restaurant critics don't appear on tv and wouldn't be known to 99% of the public. A close proximity fame wise might be film critic Leonard Maltin, or the fashion guy on all the Entertainments News shows who had bad plastic surgery and looks like a bloated Steven Tyler in a wig.

Yes, I don't think it needs to be specifically a restaurant critic, just a journalist/columnist/commentator with a reasonably high profile.

I am sure Mr Gill would have found a different platform from which to voice his opinions, had the restaurant gig not materialised.

Winner, Gill... perhaps ingesting inhuman amounts of semen ejaculated into your soup by chefs in restaurants around the country is a carcinogen?

To be fair Spadey, cum never killed Linda Lovelace.

She only worked in the porn business for 17 days (fact!)

She crammed a lot of work into those 17 days.

Well, on set - basically - 17 days (seriously) Deep Throat is barely over one hour long and they didn't exactly bust a gut on locations or budget. There's a fairly insightful biopic that's pretty sympathetic to her later view of things that she was coerced and a lot of the other work - by way of public appearances and promotions etc. was done under duress.

What I meant is that he doesnt look particular unwell here.Slightly craggier voice and clearly lost a good stone or two but if I didnt know he was so ill I wouldnt have guessed.I mean he looks better than Robin Gibb did when he was a few months from death.
