I really don't think we should give them any more attention unless their health actually merits it. God knows they'll be milking this for months now. Tabloid trash galore. "Life after Linda". They'll get their book deal and reality show signed off just in time for floaty dress season.
Lafaucheuse 4,295 Posted Wednesday at 14:53 I never was really interested about her as she's not well known outside of the UK but that still is quite "shocking" in a sense, she lingered for so long that I didn't pick her in my DDP team… What a miss. She must have had a pretty recent decline considering she was still trolling about deadpooling a week or two ago

gcreptile 11,381 Posted Wednesday at 15:00 Crem's fantasies are always partly founded in reality. Seems like Nolan died of pneumonia - probably made worse by chemo. And we've had quite a few pneumonia cases lately. So those who thought that cancer wouldn't kill her, are somewhat right (but still wrong in the end). The fact she died from pneumonia after all this cancer drama for years is… quite ironical to say the least. The headlines are misleading and refer to her death as being caused by cancer. God knows how long she could have gone without pneumonia, probably a year more imo.

Her death certificate will state pneumonia as a cause but will also say “complication of cancer” next to it. Without the cancer it’s unlikely she would have died from the pneumonia. The chemo lowered her immune system enough to make the pneumonia problematic.

Why do so many obituary writers die before the person they wrote about. It should be rare occurrence but it has happened multiple times - do some newspapers use elderly or ill people to write obituaries?

It should be rare occurrence but it has happened multiple times - do some newspapers use elderly or ill people to write obituaries? They get the people with the most experience and knowledge in the area and it's likely that those people will be older, pre-written obits are for the big names and when those people, like Jimmy Carter, live an extraordinarily long life, it shouldn't be too surprising if the obit writer goes before the subject. In Nolan's case it seems a bit weird to have an obituary on ice for at least 6 years, but the guardian seems to have a massive backlog of pre-written obits, covering anyone who has even been within an inch of fame.
