Dead Wait 1,129 Posted February 24, 2018 No Vicar of Dibley theme team and no picks for Emma Chambers unsurprisingly....
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 28, 2018 Because I feel bored and I might be busy for the next couple of days when other people may begin to reevaluate their team, here's a brief rundown on how I feel about my team (which apart from Stefansson, nothing really changed that much for an updated detailed review): RIP: Cryne, Elias, Miller, Smith, Tsvangirai Locks: Bracknell, Jowell, McCain, Stefansson, Vervoort Likely deaths but obit risky: Cocks, Forster, Goodwin Likely deaths but could see 2019: Gilbert, James 50/50 punts: Cappotelli, Francis, Ricksen Unsure of health: Fraser Will likely see 2019: Nolan
maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted February 28, 2018 Hmm So RIP - Alcock, Cryne, Elias, Graham, Nevin You can run but you can't hide: Bracknell, Jowell, McCain, Stefansson, Stiles, Vervoort You can run but maybe can't hide: Clegg, Francis, Goldberg, Herd and Francis (Joker) Harder to call: Eric Harrison (amazed I snagged a unique pick there, mind), Newton John, Nolan Much harder to call: Baddiel Shoo-in but dodgy obit: Youngs Currently sitting = 20th (which amazes me) though my generally good HPDP form has of late gone totally to shit

FixedBusiness 407 Posted February 28, 2018 Heres my main A team, Life Flies by So Fast Life Flies By: R.I.P: Miller, Nevin Locks: Bracknell, Jowell, Stefansson, Vervoort Likely: Lima, Gilbert, Ricksen, (Clive) James, Stiles 50/50: Clegg, Hallenga, Harper, Nolan Possible but not likely: (Paul) Gascoigne, Macgowan, O'Connor, O'Grady, Ruffo (Im not sure what stage his brain cancer is at atm)
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 28, 2018 @FixedBusiness Ruffo is currently in remission. I think the headlines on the type of brain cancer was very misleading and were less aggressive than stated, so he's (imo) safe for the year...

He was kind of one of my punt picks because I wasn't sure where he was at the end of the year either. I think I picked him purely on age which turned out to not be the best strategy. Death Impends 7,975 Posted February 28, 2018 He has something less aggressive than glioblastoma. Something beginning with an o, I forget the exact name. I think most sufferers live for at least three years with it.
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 28, 2018 Yeah, I think it'll come back eventually, but 2018 seems way too early for him. 8 minutes ago, FixedBusiness said: Thank you for noting that! Just some advice, whenever you are considering someone for your DDP team, I would always do some extra off forum research to see if they are a good pick in the end. One example of someone that almost no one went for under further research is former Shameless pick Jake Bailey. Headlines had a very grim prognosis, but the actual cancer was something that wasn't that aggressive. He later went into remission, and if the people who considered him didn't do deeper research, they would've been duped by him...

Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 28, 2018 Just now, msc said: ^ Aye, Linda Nolan. That was more of an example of major contenders for the title (such as Spade) that considered him and less of an example of some poor sod that won’t win the DDP...
YoungWillz 21,044 Posted February 28, 2018 Kind of concerned that there is more than a whiff of strangeness that cancer patients are going out of their way to dupe deadpoolers....

Dr_T 254 Posted March 1, 2018 Have I missed some news about Stefan Karl Stefansson? There seems to be consensus that he'll score this year but I can't see anything much in recent news suggesting a decline in his health. In other news, last I looked Colin Butts hasn't tweeted for a while which is unusual compared with his normal patterns. Could be a bad sign?

msc 18,448 Posted March 3, 2018 Funny old game when 0% of the obit/50-50 gambles came in for me in 2017, and so far in 2018 I'm 2/3 (Bloody Times et all not going back to mention Toothill...). Looks like a (brief?) return to the top 10, perhaps even the top 5? For now, anyone.
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted March 3, 2018 I didn't think Goodwin's obit was even a question, other than when....not if.
