No, those were old images taken when she was 101 or 102. She was already wheelchair bound.

I've never thought it particularly appropriate.  That rag achieves exactly what it sets out to do.

I think of it more as the Daily Stale, given its propensity to drag up old stories and add to them without editing the original copy.

I might actually watch Gone with the Wind for the first time ever tonight as a tribute to her!  There is one actor from it still alive though, Mickey Kuhn. H was doing voluntary work at a local hospice less than 3 years ago in his mid 80s so it might be a while before he goes...

The extremely  unusual  ,unique ahd semi baffling thing about Olivia de Havillands passing is the reaction.

Few people of that age would receive any reactions of shock at the news of their death. 

Not so with Olivia as this forum illustrates. 

She was a real phenomenon.

Funny I was thinking about her just a couple of days ago- heard it on the radio driving home- Rest In Peace, Olivia! She was a really fantastic actress, who also worked hard to get actors out of the studio system-  but a good long life indeed!

Well, next year's list will look very odd, with the team of Vera Lynn, Kirk Douglas, Perez de Cuellar and now Olivia De Havilland's deaths.

All have been on the list since 2014.

Maybe one of the last greats from that era, but there are hundreds of actors still living from the Golden Age.

There's at least 150+ names on that list who appeared in Hollywood movies during the 30s and 40s.

There's no dispute with them – the 1940s was definitely part of the Golden era. The dispute of where it ends comes into play when you're looking at movies post–1948.
