Dr_T 254 Posted December 30, 2018 I couldn't see anything in the rules about executions....has there been something in the forum I have missed? Also I didnt see rhe news this morning about Simon Ricketts. Can I replace Ricketts with Prince Philip and if executions don't score can I have Andrew McGahan as my joker and include Bob Hawke in my team? If executions are allowed the Bob can be my sub. If if none of this is possible, so be it. Sorry to be a nuisance. Cheers Dr T

Ya know, I looked at the rules for this pool, and it seems there is nothing in there specifically disallowing this. Could be an oversight, as I think the other looks all have this rule. But it looks like DrT found a loophole.
Death Impends 7,979 Posted December 30, 2018 After the conclusion of the 2017 Deathrace, where I won on the back of two executions, we all agreed it sucked all the fun out of the game and mpfc added an addendum to the first page of the 2017 DR. 2a: A player may enter as many team members facing state execution as s/he wants but said picks will only count for deathrace points if they die by means other than state execution - murder, suicide, ill health etc. It hasn't seemed to be retained for future Deathrace threads, but it ought to be. I'm firmly against those picks and - even if they are deemed acceptable - I am not picking any of the sort again (bar the rare cases of a death row inmate who'll die of other means first!).

Dr_T 254 Posted December 30, 2018 I would rather the executions not be allowed as well, but when I saw nothing in the rules I thought I would allow myself one guilty pleasure. I will happily play in the spirit of rule 2 a if no one else is picking death row'ers. So if Mary can change my team as previously explained that would be great. Skinny kiltrunner 553 Posted December 30, 2018 I kind of wonder why the big ban on executions anyway? Don't they typically get postponed over and over again, with death rowers spending decades in prison? I'd take a late stage pancreatic cancer over one of these guys any day. Seems like a random rule. Cheers Dr T So - my bad on this - I copied the rules over from a previous year and Death Impends has be bang to rights on quoting the amendment we agreed after his previous win and I'm taking it as read most contestants have avoided death row cases - my reality check being the incoming teams NOT posted on this forum. That said. I've been gleefully adding yer death row candidate without too much thought (and you aren't the only one who has him). So, I've amended the rules here and - crucually - on the file I have on the computer. So McGahon, Hawke all in as requested.
