1 point(A) Read the forum before posting and (B) Just posting a link seems clickbait to me. An explanation of the name and age if possible should be posted. I'm getting tired of bald links that cannot be searched in the search facility on the forum.

1 pointMMDP Form Guide #11 Now if we're looking for a candidate with a name appropriate for a Midsummer Death Pool why look any further than June Brown?

1 pointMMDP Form Guide #4 Charles Van Doren, the Fortnum and Mason's Charles Ingram, still with us at 91 - 70 more than 21. Will he be this year's winning pick? Don't ask me, I don't have the answers.

1 pointCongrats Death Impends, from the person at the other end of the leaderboard. Proud of all my survivors, you did well team. Wooden spoon, go me!

1 pointAND THE WINDOW SLAMS SHUT! We have our Semifinalists. Commiserations to those who have crashed out, but congratulations to those in our Fab Four! Heef, the unheralded underdog cutting down seasoned deadpoolers in his wake. Deadsox, behind one of the biggest deadpool shocks of the century. Death Impends, who crushed one of the potential winners. DDT, aka the Grim Reaper himself. Like a Brazil 1994, conserving his energy to this point. Just give me a few mins to tot up DDT's team for the masterlist. He said he'd get it in, and true to form he did... a whole 65 seconds before the end of April!

1 point*bugles playing as if this were a medieval coronation ceremony* Ladies and gentlemen, the inaugural Windy City Deadpool has officially ended. We have our winner! Let's take a look at the full scoreboard... 14) YoungWillz - 30 points 13) Bibliogryphon - 145 points 12) Davy Jones' Locker - 655 points 11) ImNotHades - 690 points 10) Jiromeon Kimura - 895 points 9) The Unknown Man - 1005 points 8) gcreptile - 1040 points 7) RadGuy - 1050 points 6) Captain Chorizo - 1130 points 5) msc - 1285 points 4) Shaun of the Dead - 1305 points 3) Wormfarmer - 1370 points This chap is definitely a star player. He visits the Deathlist Forums almost exclusively because of this competition, it seems. He finished in 3rd place with 1370 points and 9/20 hits, including 5 of his top 6. 2) Book - 1625 points Despite being in a constant battle for the lead, going back and forth, Book lost the lead just two weeks ago with a Bruce Langhorne obit. His performance was incredible, all of his top 8 died. It is also worth noting that he basically competed with a team of 18. How so? Well, one pick, Sally Sweetland, was discovered to have died years ago. Another - Piet de Jong, missed out on a qualifying obit. 1) DeathImpends - 1690 points Ah, one of the best deadpoolers ever. DeathImpends, not-so-surprisingly, wins yet another deadpool. 14/20 of his picks died - amazing performance! This man put in some incredible effort to win the Windy City Deadpool 2016-17. Congrats to him and good luck in the next round!

1 pointHere is the long waited update that you've been waiting for, featuring all the hits from the DDP updates so far: We begin with the unique hit of legendary rock n roller Chuck Berry. Bibliogryphon will be getting 1 basic point and 3 unique points... but wait! There's also unfortunately a 2 point deduction for being in prison at some point in their life (it was originally a 3 point deduction, but I decided to be a nice guy and reduce it to 2), so the final added points for Bibliogryphon is an additional 2 points. Next, we have the wealthiest hit of the the bunch, giving 9 people at least one point, including Captain Chorizo, who at this point is even with Death Impends. A lot of bonus points goes to the following: YoungWilz has a bonus for finding secret spot #20, making his hit worth 2, Gooseberry gains an extra point for spot #20 as well as a point for guessing every person in order until they jump back (a bonus only he is still eligible for due to lack of hits), I gain an extra point for the joker bonus, The Unknown Man gains a point for finding secret spot #35. Shaun and Gooseberry will get another hit with Colin Dexter, with Gooseberry getting another every person guessed in order until they jump back hit. Another small hit is Ingeborg Rapoport. A more important hit, with Death Impends gaining the lead at this point, and only gets denied of unique points from RishCast, whose team might be one to watch in the future... Now a funnier hit was the late Don Rickles, with three teams cashing in. Chorizo is once again back to joint leader with Death Impends, with RadGuy and Bibliogryphon's team on the rise. Speaking of Bibliogryphon, he jokered this next hit, broadcaster Brian Matthew, who is getting 4 points instead of 2 due to finding secret spot #8. The Dead Cow also gains a point, getting himself out of the third place dead lock, for now at least... Our last hit for this update was the oldest person in the world, Emma Morano. In somewhat of a controversial decision, I've decided that she is nothing more than FFBI, as while she wasn't a cancer mum, her only claim to fame is being the world's oldest person. So, a lot of basic points won't show up at all. Funny thing though, both Chorizo and Death Impends found a secret spot for her, claiming #35 and #5 respectively, so they are still joint leader. MSC will also gain a point for finding secret spot #32, and The Dead Cow found secret spot #10. Basically, only the top 4 found a secret spot for her, which is sometimes how things goes... Here's the long awaited leader board: 1st= - Captain Chorizo - 55 points 1st= - Death Impends - 55 points 3rd - Dead Cow - 47 points 4th - msc - 46 points 5th - RadGuy - 45 points 6th - Bibliogryphon - 43 points 7th - RishCast - 36 points 8th= - Shaun of the Dead - 35 points 8th= - Unknown Man - 35 points 10th - Pedro67 - 34 points 11th - joeyruss - 21 points 12th - YoungWilz - 19 points 13th - Gooseberry Crumble - 8 points 14th - Cat O'Falk - minus 1 point I must note that Bibliogryphon might be one to watch, he's certainly on the rise for sure. I think he has a chance at cracking the top 5 now. However, the top 2 still have a gap of 8 points from the 3rd place person, but he (and the other 2 in the top 5) has a potential hit with Sasha Lakovic in the next update. Too bad he's probably not getting an obit though...

1 pointMy team's in now - I'd just sent it in with a message about it being a waste of time and then looked at forum and there was a post on the Michael of Romania thread - but not the news I was looking for. So looks like I'm going to finish third out of the eight quarter finalists but unfortunately second out of two in the only bit that's important. Anyhow I will keep chasing the death news until midnight in the vain hope of a last minute saviour.

1 pointhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bea_Wain American singer Bea Wain turns 100 tomorrow and is definitely worth considering for a 2018 pick by both the committee and individual poster's.

1 pointI don't see it as an issue. This isn't a matter for quotas. You just pick people who you think are likely candidates, regardless of gender, race, nationality, or whatever. Shaun makes a good point about women historically being vastly outnumbered by men in the notability stakes. Most areas were dominated by men. For example, when I was a child there were no female newsreaders on UK television. It was held that female voices lacked sufficient gravitas to deliver serious news. And in the mid-twentieth century UK, most married women of middle class and upwards did not have jobs. This is the generation now reaching old age.

1 pointTell me about it. The people of Tatton are particularly fortunate I feel. Aside from the brief interlude of Martin Bell, their last three MPs will most likely be Neil Hamilton, George Osborne and...Esther McVey. Well...if you will keep voting Tory...

1 pointHave we hit a brick wall or are we going to have one of those months soon where we get 3 or 4 in a couple of weeks. Shame about Don Rickles. I think we need two hits before the end of May to make us feel that the record is in sight.
-
1 pointDepends. Are you thinking of a general team, or a theme team? General. I think if you look at some of the team names, your choice is actually quite tame he he. It's your team, call it what you will...TMIB will let you know if you cross a line though. Here's one I'm not using - Uploaded To The Cloud.
