5 points^^ radguy, best/easiest solution is to get something to predate them. Get a pet anteater for example. Very peaceable animal and you could rent him out to the neighbours .

2 pointsYes UKIP voters seem to have taken a strange journey from Labour through UKIP and into Tories - I wonder if they realise!

2 pointsTories could sweep large parts of Aberdeen and Perthshire and that bit next month. Yeah, YW, just wait till folk twig we're not leaving the Common Fisheries....

2 pointsFrom what I can gather Scottish Labour has been utterly incompetent fo years.Am I right in thinking Glasgow was the biggest Labour area in the entire of Scotland at one point? It is an amusing irony. It is quite fun to watch from down south that Labour are failing under both measures of voting. Just heard that Labour have lost a seat to UKIP in the North.Beaten by a party that is being wiped off the electoral map.Surely Labour have to purge Corbyn if they stand any chance.

2 pointsMMDP Form Guide #28ish Let's see who you could have picked. He's had emphysema for ages, he's had three strokes, 'Super, Smashing, Great', but is it possible that someone could hit the Bullseye by picking Jim Bowen? Oh, have I spelt that right? Let's check that with Bully. Moooooo - his times up I'm afraid.

1 pointHmm, no. Adolph Kiefer actually was on my longlist, no. 1162. I must have done some research on him some time ago.

1 pointI'm intrigued how the complete insincerity of Theresa is going down. On Pip's standing down from Royal duties she was quite clearly reading a prepared statement off a card. Today she was standing in an empty room clearly reading a statement off a card stating that the local elections weren't about local elections but all about strong Brexit. (Remember Cameron's Scottish Referendum being all about EVEL?). It's very strange to watch...

1 pointWhat this might do is give the voters a horrid vision of the next five years and the missing 30% might get up and vote for someone who isn't a Tory. However the Tory gains do seem to have been bought with UKIP votes.

1 pointI hadn't kept up with your ant issues.....so it's an all-natural remedy we are after, mate? Kick that pile, let them come out, and dump a pot o' boiling water on them. Is bleach considered natural LOL? Best product I've seen (we have those red fire ants in Loozeeann) is the Bayer product, I just kick the nest and out they come all angry and shit and sprinkle some magic Bayer dust on them and watch the carnage. But that isn't natural. Would seem boiling water would gitterdun but I dunno. But know this: I am INCREDIBLY interested in the ongoing ant problem you have, RadGuy. SC

1 pointSlightly special in Glasgow, in that it was probably the last bastion of taking the folk for granted by Labour, high independence vote in the 2014 referendum, Scottish Labour's poor leadership rather than national, etc etc. It's always a pleasure up here, conversely, to see the Tories doing well out of proportional representation and smugly cheering every victory at local and Scottish Parliamentary elections, when they are so against it.
-
1 pointSo it is clearly not just his leadership or media spin.Labour are so useless.They. are losing to everyone.
-
1 pointLabour fail to get their candidate elected in Shettleston and lose overall control of Glasgow. This is an historic moment, and would be worthy of any leader of such a party stepping down. Paradoxically, Corbyn's values are exactly attuned to Glasgow values, I'd say. Unlike his Red Tory party.

1 pointMMMDP Form Guide 25 HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Of a generation where retirement and death were often mentioned in the same sentence and now looking at a diary that offers little entertainment past his next (96th) birthday. Nailed on Q/O status to boot. Dead pool gold - but is this summer a little premature to pick him?

1 pointI have just arrived in Thailand for a weeks auditing. It would be typical for a flurry of deaths to occur. I would have posted about my flights but it doesn't feel the same without @Cat O'Falk here.

1 pointJohn Le Carré is about to make a rare appearance because his new novel will feature a classic character of his. Maybe Le Carré's work is about to come full circle? https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/may/03/john-le-carre-rare-public-appearance-discuss-new-novel-george-smiley He strikes me as a typical Deathlist pick, one who enters the list in his mid-to-late 80s and then stays on for 5-10 years to suddenly die without any news in between.

1 pointSome post third round analysis. There were 54 different picks out of 8 teams (88 team members) so a 61.4% ratio. Out of those 54 there are 35 uniques (64.8%). Of the 54, 14 died (26% - more than double the previous monthly hit rate for rounds 1 and 2) although no QO for Reid or Stros. Quite simply if you want to live you don't want to find yourself in a team in The Deathlist Cup. Of the 35 uniques, 8 died (23%) although one was Reid. Rounds One and Two this was 5% and 6% and perhaps reflects the top quality Dead Poolers getting serious. At the other end of the spectrum of the 7 people selected by 3 or more teams, 2 died (29%). This stat has proved fairly consistent round to round. I'd suggest that to win you need the popular picks in your team but to survive to the later stages you also need to be able to fill the remaining places with your own 'finds' (or be Deadsox ). For the semi finals There are 32 different picks out of 4 teams (44 team members) so a 73% ratio meaning a greater spread of selections in each match. Out of those 32 there are 24 uniques (75%). Obviously the less team the more likely uniques but also the better dead poolers have the ability and confidence to search for their own names rather than the popular picks that permeate the forum. I thought it was possible by now that all the teams would be similar based on picks from previous rounds but the opposite has in fact happened. This month we're down to a top 8 chosen by more than one team (last month's ranking in brackets). 1. Catherine Nevin (1) 2.= Michael of Romania (4=) 2.= Paul van Zandvliet (4=) 4.= Al - Baghdadi (New Entry) 4.= Bracknell (Chart Returner) 4.= Christie (3) 4.= Downie (2) 4.= Noriega (New Entry) Other than Lakovic and Vennari who died the 5 survivors from last month's charts remained in this month's version. I won't do this again because the number of teams now doesn't make it meaningful (if it ever was!!!).
