3 pointsThank you for bringing these very unknown names to our attention. I'm sure we'll find some use with these names next year...

3 pointsThey were married for 59 years, she didn't die at 59. That's the sun being a complete idiot for you, which is typical for tabloids tbh.

2 pointsNo. I know two people are alive from the 19th century. However, I don't believe anyone is still alive is still alive from the 1800s, i.e between 1800-1899...

2 pointsI remember reading a study somewhere that Wikipedia is pretty good at dealing with blatant vandalism on frequently visited articles: attempts at blanking pages or cursing are caught in seconds (or at worst, minutes) by patrols and automatic algorithms that would soon revert the page. But less obvious things like that "Joey Russ" style could stay in the articles for ages, because real experts are rarely reading or contributing to the articles, and among the enthusiastic amateurs no one could figure out that there aren't any boxing styles named after "Joey Russ". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism_Unit/Subtle_Vandalism_Taskforce

1 pointYou missed the most interesting tidbit. He became a part of league history, when he snapped the ball that Tom Dempsey kicked (with half a foot) on the final play of a 19–17 win, for an NFL record 63-yard field goal. SC

1 pointHere's some ideas for some new names on DeathList 2018. (If there is someone who was on an earlier list, tell me.) John McCain: Reason for Notability: US Senator and Presidential Candidate (2008). Age in 2018: 82 Why they should be on the list: Diagnosed with a brain tumor in July 2017. If he dies at the average survival time, he will die in November 2018. Stephen Hillenburg: Reason for Notability: Created the longtime-running cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants. Age in 2018: 57 Why they should be on the list: Diagnosed with ALS in March 2017. Most people who have it don't survive for much longer. Jerry Maren: Reason for Notability: Actor and the last known surviving Munchkin from The Wizard of Oz. Age in 2018: 98 Why they should be on the list: Age alone should do it. Also, just look at his picture on Wikipedia. Chuck Yeager: Reason for Notabiity: First person to exceed the speed of sound. Age in 2018: 95 Why they should be on the list: Age. Also, possibly those G-forces. Walter Mondale: Reason for Notability: U.S. Vice President under Jimmy Carter. Age in 2018: 90 Why they should be on the list: Age, not to mention that Carter was also on the list more than once. Johan van Hulst: Reason for Notability: Dutch politician and humanitarian. Age in 2018: 107 Why they should be on the list: Age. Definitely age. Marge Champion: Reason for Notability: Disney's model for Snow White and The Blue Fairy in Pinocchio. Age in 2018: 99 (This was posted on her 98th birthday.) Why they should be on the list: Age. Most of my choices are for age alone. Kim Jong-un: Reason for Notability: "Glorius" leader of North Korea since 2011. Age in 2018: 36 (according to North Korea), 35 (according to South Korea), 34 (according to the USA and Switzerland) Why they should be put on the list: If the USA and North Korea go to war, that will most likely kill him. If not, diabetes will, because he hogs all of North Korea's food. Jim Leavelle: Reason for Notability: Pearl Harbor survivor and Lee Harvey Oswald's escort. Age in 2018: 98 Why they should be put on the list: Age, not to mention he saw his fellow troops killed by the Japanese and a man get shot (PTSD). Juan Carlos I of Spain: Reason for Notability: King of Spain from 1975 to 2014. Age in 2018: 80 Why they should be put on the list: Resigned because of "personal reasons". Not sure if that has to do with his health. Wilford Brimley: Reason for Notability: Actor (The Thing) and spokesman for Liberty Medical. Age in 2018: 84 Why they should be put on the list: DIABEETUS. Mel Brooks: Reason for Notability: Director of Spaceballs and Young Frankenstein. Age in 2018: 92 Why they should be put on the list: Age, yet again. Last but not least, Sidney Poitier: Reason for Notability: Actor and director. Age in 2018: 91 Why they should be put on the list: Age. There was also probably something wrong with him when he directed Ghost Dad.

1 pointCurrently reading David Cassidy's second autobiography (the third one is likely in progress and mainly consists of crayon drawings - but I digress). The gripping read of how a disaffected hippie kid stumbles into the acting job that makes him the world's biggest teen idol and then spends the rest of his life trying to unscramble his head has thrown up some Googling options for dead pool picks. First off Cassidy's step-mother and TV mother in The Partridge Family - Shirley Jones - is still alive (b. 1934) Secondly 72 year old Jim Gordon; go to rock drummer for the likes of Derek and the Dominos is still alive. Convicted and sectioned after the voices in his head drove him to kill his mother Gordon still appears confused about which planet he's on. Though he may currently be in better physcial health than his old mate Eric Clapton. Either way, he has a pedigree that guarantees a q/o as and when.

0 pointsFuneral details have been announced for long-time State Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D, of Houtzdale, who died Friday afternoon at his home with family by his side. He was 89. George was elected as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 74th Legislative District in 1974. He was reelected for 19 consecutive terms, serving for 38 years and retiring in 2012. He held the distinction of being one of the longest serving legislators in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the longest in Clearfield County. We just lost the longest serving member of the Virginia House of Representatives this week as well. SC
