Always a good time to bring up the Bush Sr to Clinton letter from 93...

So around the start of November, I'm going to open the thread for the 2018 game. The start of November is next week... Then, if we completely steal the Slam Guide stuff everything is using now (since MPFC came up with it), then that allows folk to bring up names they think should be on the list. And, as it's not a competition per say, there's more of a lobbying aspect to it. You'd be trying to convince other voters why they should spend one of their spots on the person.

Stan Kowalski's died a few days ago (aged 91). He was three times AWA tag champ back in the 1960s as Murder Inc. (a great tag team name imo) with Tiny Mills (long gone). Reapers on a bit of an AWA fix lately. Anyhow, ten really old wrestling connections you might consider for a deadpool. I was going to say "oldest living", but you know, between people considered long dead showing up at reunion shows, and the fudging of ages, it's one of those lists that people appear on as much as get taken off for dying! Vicky Askew (1920) - Vince McMahon's mum, so fringes of fame. Joe D'orazio (1922) - Obit likely as oldest British wrestler, shows up at those reunion shows they do. Bill Mercer (1926) - Old time commentator Carlos Rocha (1927) - Wrestled for the WWF back in the 50s. Karl Karlsson (1927) - possibly Cowboy Bob Ellis (1929) Pampero Firpo (1930) - who already appears on a few deadpools, I see Jacques Rougeau Sr (1930) - Promoter, dad to Jacques and Ray (and Armand), former commentator. Len Rossi (1930) - retired to run a health food store, outlived his own son. Dick "The Destroyer" Beyer (1930) - An actual proper legend. Don Leo Jonathan (1931) - Legend, now said to be in very poor health Dave Kidney (1931) - That guy! Tony Marino (1931) - Wrestled as Batman, worked with Bruno Sammartino, teamed with Bobo Brazil to win regional tag titles and feuded with Abdullah the Butcher. Not bad for a journeyman! Any deadpool with relaxed qualifying obit requirements (ie, the Deathlist Cup, Hares Pool, etc) will be OK here as all of the above will be covered by Slam Sports (a respected Canadian news site) and their wrestling section.

Strange new account with 1 post making an oddly designed post about JPDC? Most interesting thing about him in decades.

Just saw her interview on Newsnight tonight. Seems to be one of these tough old birds, but nevertheless, radar-worthy....

None of the current top three have used their Wildcard yet either... Meantime, my team are holding up their end of the bargain by mostly still breathing...after all, they are not called the December Delicatessen for nothing you know...

I stumbled across this group through the Guardian, who is always eager to promote noteworthy women. Here's a recent article on Lady Marion Body, most likely obitable: http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/news/news/22527/stanford-dingley-village-hall-open-for-all.html Edit: Here's the Guardian article: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2015/jan/29/the-bletchley-girls-tessa-dunlop-the-debs-of-bletchley-park-michael-smith-review

Aye, I feel that. Think the biggest lesson for me from this year (along with to give up on prisoner gambles) is to not overestimate the value of young people who were just diagnosed with cancers that will eventually kill them, tempting as the risk is - especially given how well-researched deadpoolers can find more quality names than ever these days.

By the time you're waiting for a royal funeral, we could have nine living current or former PMs: 1. Major 2. Blair 3. Brown 4. Cameron 5. May 6. May's successor 7. The Person who replaces May's successor 8. Corbyn 9. The Person MI6 replace Corbyn with 10 hours after election

Two things spring to mind. Firstly, some things will never be released, they will just keep getting pushed back over and over. Secondly, what are the odds of Trump being 'accidentally strangled by his fringe' before said Kennedy info is actually released??? Hmmmm

The person who instigated the use of the word "gift" as a verb. Now it's everywhere. People no longer give things to each other, they "gift" them. They talk about "gifting" something instead of giving it. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP
