Yes, it will be back, and the invitation is (now) currently open for champion @deadsox and runner up @Death Impends to be involved. The rule change is a mere tweak: a successful hit will now be worth 3 points, not 2. Unique hits will still bring you a bonus point, so 4 points. Famous Only For Dying, which will have the same definition as last year (ie, if they had fame for anything no matter how obscure pre-illness, they dont qualify for this) will give you 1 point AND Famous Only for Dying picks WILL NOT be eligible for the unique bonus. So your Lisa Magills and Shameless picks can only give a competitor 1 point, whereas all the folk with some form of notoriety bring 3 or 4 points. But anyhow, that's for a thread at some point in mid-January.

The last time I took it out didn't go that well.

Dead https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/keely-smith-dead-jazz-pop-singer-frequent-louis-prima-collaborator-was-89-1068774 one huge loss for me I grew up listening to Louis Prima & Keely Smith. SC (Edit-ok I did a search and it took me to DDT’s post not Thatchers, but I’d have posted regardless, as for me it’s a tremendous loss. One of the fondest memories Sir Creep has of his dad (and there are precious few) was listening to Prima-Smith albums. RIP

Decided to give this country legend a well overdue thread, especially cause I think he could potentially make a great deathlist pick next year. With so many health issues he had to deal this past year, surely he can't live much longer, can he?

A MUST next year. Out of the "Core 4" of Rock (Domino-Berry-Richard-Lewis), only two remain. People seem to mention Jerry Lee Lewis much more, which is very surprising because Little Richard: - is older -is the one who stopped performing years and years ago - is the one who was close to dying (according to various sources) many times before and is approaching the maximum lifespan of a rocker. I think the famous "Last Man Standing" monicker will finally apply for real to JLL.

Rex Garrod is about 74.Inside knowledge I have is that he has indeed gotten significantly worse in the last few months though. He is physically fine though so could last a while yet.Desperately sad.I won't say anymore out of respect for the family though.

My Dad has just marked the 2 year point of him being in a care home. Last time I saw him he was humming along to Chritmas carols.

Tough news to swallow - he's dead.

Nooooooooo. June Whitfield is one of my 'untouchables' - people who I will never put in my deadpool. Mind you, perhaps that would be a good idea as judging by my recent DDP results anyone in my team seems to be granted eternal life. Someone I know saw and chatted to Nicholas Parsons a couple of days ago. Obviously a fall or a chill can be fatal at that age but he's absolutely fine and still sharp as a tack, so I wouldn't seriously consider him for 2018.

There are a few persons adopted by the counterculture who would likely not welcome being reminded. Amongst them Erich Von Daniken. Not in the best of health and facing his 83rd birthday in April the convicted fraudster and best-selling author of ancient astronaut - ermm - theories has a gig in Manchester next June. I'm toying with the idea of checking him out but is he worth £50? Link: http://awakeningufo.com/november-press-release

    1) She isn't dead 2) If she was dead, she would not have a voice to compare to the one she had when she was alive. 3) WTF.

As one of the innovators of rock, he'll piss an obit. Anyhow, anyone know how his cancer is?

Just watched a BBC Four doc about Rock n Roll. Don Everly looks okay. Jerry Allison from The Crickets looks incredible for 78. Jerry Lee Lewis looks and sounds horrific. Would be shocked if he makes it to 2019.

The name that I really think the DL have underestimated is Stefan Karl. The guy was part of a highly successful children's show much like John Noakes.

Sinead is Deathlist worthy but not worth a shot as she could last a while. If she is diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer then she would pass the fame test.
