Oh, sad news. I once met him and his wife during a vacation in Portugal (in September 2015, to be precise). We stayed at the same hotel and got into conversations after dinner several times, because we sat next to each other on the terrace. His wife and my boyfriend were smokers and although it was a non-smoking area, nobody dared to prohibid it to Mrs. Jenninger (and the other Mr. Book) because she was a Grande Dame! While the other two enjoyed their cigarettes, me and Mr. Jenninger talked about having stopped smoking and how lucky we are now as former smokers He also told us some stories of his really interesting life (not mentioning his controversal speech). It were stories like that he and Helmut Schmidt were good friends (although they were in different parties) and during long sessions in the Bundestag they blink to each other across the room just to meet outside a few minutes later to smoke a cigarette or two, haha! All in all he was a smart and nice man whose charm and intelligence you could not escape. Goodbye, Mr. J.

Off to California, but this time I'm not driving!!!!! After battling Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in the morning, though, I may change my mind. I'll be gone for two weeks but I'll be around. Admit it, you would all miss me terribly otherwise. AA 2228, if anyone cares enough to track me.

See, that is what 2017 was missing - Flight Radar posts, by non-dilettantes! That, and I had to fix all my technology issues by myself! (PS This explains the big fire in Glasgow last year... )

I'm guessing you're departing 0910 hrs CST on Saturday the 6th in which case you should be on Airbus A321 registration N138AN. She spent the night in Orlando and she's due to depart for Dallas at 0600 hrs EST.

I hear you about JCPenney. The same goes for the last one I shopped in while in California. They seem to depend on electronic marking of their goods from theft so they feel they can reduce staff since they do not need many to guard against shop-lifters. Sears dropped the ball when they did not quickly put their Sears Catalogue on line. They could have stopped part of the expansion of Amazon. Hopefully K-mart will not close the New Iberia store - they should only close NON-productive stores - if of course their management is awake and aware.

Hey now, let's turn that frown upside-down! The Wilds, in Cumberland, Ohio, is showing off its new male White Rhinoceros calf, Gordon. Staff at The Wilds say Gordon, a male White Rhinoceros calf was born on Dec. 19, 2017, to mother Eve (born at The Wilds in 2006) and father Roscoe. Gordon is the 4th White Rhinoceros calf to be born in a 10-week span at The Wilds, the 20th Rhinoceros to be born at The Wilds since 2004, and the 10th fourth-generation white rhino to be born at the facility. Now, just question for this year @Death Impends, remember last year when there were deaths between the list being posted and the start of the game? I think The Dead Cow was going to institute some rule to cover this for this year. Last year's solution seemed to work, but just in case it happens again, what's to happen? Thanks in advance...

I'm back. So I'll probably spend the rest of today catching up on what I missed the past week. Might get started on Death By Numbers, but it probably won't be up till tomorrow. Happy New Year!

Yes good hotel, went to Penn and Teller, very good. Cher was on every night so I don't think all the "sad last days" stuff is too acurate. Great holiday but would need another to recover!!
