You beat me to it. Wofford’s death brings the number of living former U.S. senators that served in World War II down to five. Some of them are famous in their own right. Hollings (SC) - 97 Oldest living former senator Buckley (NY) - 96 Brother of William F. Buckley and one of the few successful third party senatorial candidates Dole (KS) - 96 Presidental nominee ‘96 VP nominee ‘76 Evans (WA) - 93 Warner (VA) - 92 Last living husband of Elizabeth Taylor

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-46958875 I like how you can just quote BBC obits as QO again instead of worrying where on the site it is.

I guess Andrew Fairlie becomes my first ever hit in the DDP. A 'rejected' pick in the alt.obituaries one. Also means rejigging my planned Deathlist Cup team. I suspect I'm not the only one.

Edge of Darkness is fantastic. That's the 6 part series and not the 90 minute film with Mel Gibson, naturally. Oh, and so is An American Werewolf in London. Armageddon Factor is less fantastic, mind you. Top actor. Similar vintage to the also seen in bloody everything Geoffrey Palmer.

Haha - see post above yours Are you just trying to see what the maximum number of posts is that you can make about Andrew Fairlie?

His dead pool appearances are slowly on the rise but it might be a timely reminder here that Gaston Glock still breathes and is approaching his 90th birthday in the summer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaston_Glock Obit suitable for any dead pool a likely shoo-in even if summat else is kicking off big time on the day

First of many, I'd assume. Congrates. (And Cup subs are a fairly common thing...)

In which case, congrates to Willz, who was adamant Fairlie was going to make the Drop 40, and jokered him.

I mean in terms of forum popularity, as opposed to being on the list itself.

John Woodvine - 90 this year - is still going strong, mind https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Woodvine

Usual suspects. But one day, in a remote future, we'll read General Anh's obituary .... Anyway some go some new arrive. Balbir Singh, whose children have just declared will make it to 100 on Facebook, and Li Rui (who went on to die in February 2019) (almost a year in hospital with multiple organ failure, on life support since the end of November) are excellent newcomers in the immortal list. Surely the Seer was the most immortal of them all, probably rivaled only by dear General Anh.

Apparently, Fox News erroneously aired a graphic, albeit for a couple of seconds, indicating that she’d shuffled off:

I've had to wheelspin out of that junction many times tbf, it is a fucking horrible junction. The real question, however, is whether the debris actually came from his car or the Kia or could it have been shite from a previous accident(s) Maybe I ought to pop up there and gather as much crap as I can and do a 'buy it now' on flea bay before the flea bay morality Police pull it. I have a mortgage that could do with paying off.

Some Indian sources are even claiming he actually received a liver transplant (!) in December, which he did not survive. I hope these are just unfounded claims, as everyone would have the right of getting mad at a 111 year old, already doomed, guy who receives a liver which could have really saved someone else's life. Shivakumara Swami was a great man. He always advocated for peace and dialogue and guaranteed education for thousands of poor kids. But you judge people not only for how they live, but also for how they die. And he did not die with dignity. He seeked unnecessary treatment when he could have quietly died without suffering in early December, when he showed the early symptoms of liver failure. An outstanding man in life, a shameful one in death.

I don’t know, but a memorial event is being co-ordinated by Diane who, Alison who, Robin who Keith who, and Elayne who.

He was like the male equivalent of Zsa Zsa seemed able to survive anything and go on forever and he went on 12 years longer than her. Still it was no life at the end, knowone should linger on suffering like he did as it isn’t fair. RIP

I would think that vehicles driven by Liz and Phil are crown vehicles and as such they aren't insured because they are underwritten by the government. I don't know if it still is the case but this sort of incident was usually prosecuted by the police and not the crown; so it would appear as Police v Prince Philip.

According to the papers he has had a new black Land Rover 4 x 4 delivered already to replace the one he smashed up and the headline of one of the papers today is "Phil back on the road". So he doesn't sound very shaken up and is obviously not too scared to carry on driving so that's good news for death listers but bad news for other motorists. I bet he's spent hours on those compare the market websites last night trying to get car insurance because at his age and after that big smash up I bet a lot of companies didn't even want to insure him. In the normal course of events if you pull out from a side road onto a national speed limit main road into the path of traffic and cause a smash up you might be charged with driving without due care and attention or dangerous driving or whatever but in his case that would effectively mean he would be up in court against his wife. Crown v Prince Philip.
