While I do think there may be an element of 'before it's too late', Livvy, sorry, Dame Livvy's gong is thoroughly deserved as she's done shedloads for cancer awareness and charity in Australia and around the world.

Merry Christmas, DDT, Banali's lead singer got the full BBC obit back in 2007 when there were much less DDP obit chasing from the likes of the Mail.

yes you will - back to it now but there’s a backlog . Lots of people spend Christmas Day thinking who might die in next 12 months obviously (ghosts of Christmas future). cheers, GUN

Yep, Grim is taking a well earned Christmas break* so confirmations will be in a few days, probably. *Genuinely, you should see the amount of work hes put into the DDP already. He's doing brill. Even though I can't see the emails, my teams are in early (and forum polis man Cat of the Yard has copies in case anyone thinks I'd try and pull a fast one on them...)

Alan Bennett has turned down a knighthood at least twice, and Glenda Jackson a Damehood. Bill Nighy, Peter Capaldi and Jim Broadbent (how's that for a hattrick of talent?) have all repeatedly turned down the offer of even a mere OBE.

Rudolph Walker has been made a CBE for his services to charity.

Just left work. No change. Sadly my colleague is still on ICU, her partner who also works with us is with her. He's in pieces. If you love someone, hug them tight tonight. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

Well she has had terminal cancer for a couple of years so the honours committee like us all probably figured that she is likely to go sooner or later and thought they don't want to wait until it is too late.

I know the feeling. The morning after I sent mine in I remembered two people I'd meant to include, though one of those was a revenge pick.

Tbf to them, Liverpool have been streets apart of most of their rivals so far this season. Signing Jurgen Klopp was probably the equivalent of signing a Messi or Mbappe for them in terms of how much he's transformed that team around last few years. Meanwhile in Scotland, Ian McCall has massively improved performances for the mighty Thistle, which is why we've moved from rock bottom in our league to... second from bottom.

So it looks like a coronation for Liverpool Liverpool - (18) 52 Leicester - (19) 39 Man City - (18) 38 Chelsea - (19) 32 It would take a monumentally shit team cocking up massively to blow a lead like that heading into the New Year..... Oh wait who could possibly fit that description - oh yes, us........ New Year 1995 Newcastle - (19) 45 Man Utd - (19) 35 Liverpool - (19) 34 Tottenaham - (19) 34

Might as well enter the DDP team for the Deathrace- nobody particularly likely to actually get a DDP QO anyway so posting as public. Lisa Griffiths (vowed to beat cancer - Daily Mail favourite) - James Church (Charlotte Church's step dad) Garry Holmes (sun favourite with runny nose that turned out to be cancer) Rob Burrow (motor neurone disease, Leeds Rhino) Sheila Yeo (former primary school teacher who contracted cancer and is trying to blame it on the school) Tracey Hill (terminally ill woman who's co-workers and friends made a naked calendar for in the welsh valleys) Bruce Evans (terminally ill Great North Air Ambulance volunteer who's vowed not to give up the fight) Doug Allen (terminally ill but won't kill himself due to wife facing clink for helping - daily mail coverage) Edwin Smith (terminally ill man living in Thailand who had a gofundme started to bring him home to Ireland) Haley Casey (cancer mum) Simona Birdsell (cancer mum) James Matthews (father of a girl who somehow made the news for caring for them and a free laptop) Roberta Burton (another cancer mum) Lisa Fry (another cancer mum) Bethan Close (another cancer mum) Andrea Swift (cancer mum _ Taylor Swifts to be precise) Debbie Winn (cancer mum) Ron Hogg (terminally ill Police Commissioner and right to life campaigner) Peter McLeave (terminally ill former ironman competitor) Ria Collins (cancer mum) Dr Peter B Scott Morgan (worlds first 'full cyborg) The Amazing Johnathan (magician - stand up comedian) Charlie Bishop (cancer dad)

I think this is "Superstar" Billy Graham's year, lads.

Yes. On the condition they're genuinely notable for being that person's family member not for being that person's ill family member. i.e James Church fine.... / Angie Douthit fine..... Submitting Boris Johnson's fifteen cousin twice removed's great aunty's uncle who has terminal cancer may get a less warm reception.
