Servus, Grüezi und Hallo! Welcome everybody to a little German/Austrian/Swiss pendant to our very beloved bible „DeathList Top 50“ and to its equivalents of the French, the Canadian and the Australian/New Zeelandian DeathList, created by forum users. We, the German forum fellas frleon, gcreptile, Prophet, TomTomTelekom, WEP and Book, created a list of 50 German, Austrian or Swiss people (from the so-called D-A-CH-countries*) of who we think that 2021 could be their final year. *By the way, D-A-CH means D = Deutschland (Germany) A = Österreich (Austria) CH = Schweiz (Switzerland) „Dach“ is the German expression for „roof“. First we collected several names which came to our mind, also of people who were born in the German speaking countries or later became a citizen of that countries. Then everyone selected 50 names and put them in order 1 to 50. First place = 50 points, last place = 1 point. At the end I added up all the points and the result was the German DeathList, now called The D-A-CH-DeathList. I'm sure you'll find some surprise inclusions but also some “obvious misses!” Every obit in the German language is accepted, because dead means dead Maybe this thread could also be used for German deaths generally, like the ones for the Danes or the Slavs or the famous Belgians. So, to cut a long story short: In the next post are the 50 German, Austrian and Swiss people of our very first D-A-CH-List 2021! Thank you for your attention. Enjoy!

May I just be the first this year to ask if anyone has considered the fabulously original names of Norman Lloyd or Beverly Cleary?
  7. 5 points
Its the annual tradition. Midnight NYE, everyone: Hooray! The new Deathlist is up! 3 seconds later: The first "Where's my DDP joker? Why have you picked Valdas Adamkus and Yoko Ono's brother?" complaints.

People only make this thread so early because they get boners about having created one of the biggest threads of the year. As such, I'm gutted I left it so late this year!

Can the subheading of this thread be “Rehash all of your unoriginal ideas from 2021 and pretend we haven’t heard them before.”?
  10. 3 points
I have some very original ideas. How about Prince Philip, Bob Dole, Jimmy Carter, and Pope Benedict? Well, hopefully I didn’t spoil any potential unique picks for anyone...

I’d heard of the Girls Aloud singer, not the footballist. I’ve never felt less fucking straight.

Fuck you LFN. It was great to speak to you after so many years and knowing you would have stepped up to help. Priceless. And that c*** TQR too making me laugh the whole year. And SC whose love knows no bounds. And Harry Mac who sung starshine in the darkest days. They can all have a happy new year anaw with love from me and my Baby Yoda Sir Creep got me, and obviously has my everlasting gratitude.

Fuck! Coffin Lodger twat was all lined up to tell everybody what a legend you were and how many tears he was shedding over the greatest DL er in the history of, er, DL. His loss is our gain.

I always do.There is no other way to be. I feel as @Lafaucheuse stated that there is an end of a generation of deathlist picks approaching the end of the line. Betty White, Prince Philip, Jimmy Carter ,Bob Dole, Bob Barker, Leslie Phillips etc. I think we may see a repeat of 2018 were a former White House couple both President and first lady die. George and Barbara Bush then and the Carters now. Two deaths in the British royal family is also something I sense the likelihood of with the more obvious candidate being Prince Philip. A glut of big name and iconic Hollywood stars mainly born in the 1930s I sense will pass in 2021. Time will tell.

I've got a very strong feeling and sense that 2021 is going to be just as much a watershed, landmark end of an era kind of year as we embark further into the 2020s. I think an unusually high number of big and significant names will finally pass away in 2021. Perhaps even more so than in 2020.A year we can all see as being a big and unusually significant year for celebrity deaths with icons, legends and big names like Vera Lynn, Barbara Windsor, Kirk Douglas, Sean Connery, Stirling Moss, Olivia de Havilland, Nobby Stiles, Diego Maradona, Jack Charlton and Ruth Bader Ginsburg dying. Anybody get the feeling that 2021 in terms of not just official deathlist but wider deadpooling of famous people is going to be another unusually momentous end of an era type of year? Yes I know many will be sceptical despite the enema 'succeeding' in terms of this years famous deaths and will not keep the faith but indulge an irrational fetish for clear minded analysis and faithlessness in 2021 despite a proven track record but I really feel my prediction and sense of the year ahead is just as accurate for the year ahead as it was for the past year. I think doubters and sceptics will be confounded so please keep the faith and an open mind with regards to the enema!

What about Joan Plowright (1929). Most of her work is in films or Stage but she has made some appearances in British tv play's and tv movies. Angela Lansbury (1925) appeared in the BBC produced 2017 Little Women remake so might also be eligible. What about Leslie Philips (1924) - he has had plenty of TV roles over the years. Or Leslie Caron (1931) being that the Durrels was British produced Gerald Harper (1931) another good one.

Don’t remember hearing anything from Pat since last Christmas. Some of the other older cast members who I don’t think have featured for a while are Jim, Leonard, Christine and Bert (Bert & Christine haven’t been regulars for a few years but usually get rolled out at Christmas) Most episodes only feature four actors instead of the previous six, so there are loads of cast members who haven’t been heard from for months.
