As this year marks the 50th anniversary of the start of "The Comedians", I decided to go full out and do deeper research across Facebook and Twitter. The incredibly popular "Old Clubland Acts" page on Facebook alone has proven very useful. So I've updated the masterlist (expand the spoiler below), adding years (or approx years) of birth to just about all names, some notes and uncovered two further deaths (which I've covered below). Also added some more names like Al Rich and Bal Moane. I don't think it will ever be possible to get a full list of the names who appeared on the show over it's 22 year broadcast, but I reckon this is almost complete. 43 dead. 32 living. 4 unknown (can't find ANY info for Mike Scott, Dennis Jones, Johnny Allan or Paddy Cassidy). I've also merged Mike Goodwin and Mike Goddard as it's the same person(!). He mentions on Facebook that he changed his name to avoid confusion with Ken Goodwin, who was also on the show. So, the two further deaths: 1) Brian Lewis – also one of The Muscles on Super Gran, along with Alan Snell (1938–2018). His daughter talks about him a lot on several groups on Facebook, noting he's dead but doesn't state when. 2) Jerry Harris – not exactly an obscure name on the show, but I suppose he just dropped off radar. He moved to Malta with his wife. In 2010 he was noted as being alive recently, in 2012 he was noted as having died "a few years ago", so seems likely he died just over a decade ago. Kudos to anyone who can find any info for Mike Scott, Dennis Jones, Johnny Allan or Paddy Cassidy, because it's annoying me.

She’s resting up on doctor’s orders, is back performing duties and is awaiting test results. Let’s go off what we know, rather than run away with our imagination.

Fofi Gennimata, leader of the Greek Social Democrats, dead after a long cancer fight at 56 (or 57?): https://greekreporter.com/2021/10/25/greek-socialist-fofi-gennimata-dies/ Meh, she had just stepped down two weeks ago. The cancer must have been far too advanced already. Edit: Here is a DDP QO, curiously under the "US politics" section... what's happening on the obit front lately? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/athens-greek-kyriakos-mitsotakis-socialist-national-health-service-b1944766.html

I read some of his books as a child. They should have been the sort of thing I liked, but I didn't really understand them and probably read them too young. I do remember being freaked out by "The Owl Service". Years later I inherited a set of Royal Doulton plates with a design that reminded me of it. I couldn't get rid of them fast enough.

Somehow only a little more than two months left of the year. Which means the first sign of the front page transfer is now up...

US TV, but for here anyway. Being reported that Joanna Cameron (sometimes JoAnna Cameron), actress who played the title role in the children's series Isis, later The Secrets Of Isis (with hindsight unfortunately named, ha!): IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0131622/ Was in the Columbo where the still living Dick Van Dyke did it, in which she plays the assistant to the foolish photographer.

They do for that type of quiz (substitute interesting for annoying) but not the 15 to 1 type, where they asked us to be as ugly and boring as possible, so as not to show up William G ‘Exciting’ Stewart. If you got some questions right at the audition you were in, it seemed to me.

If any game show belongs in Room 101, its Tipping Point. Where the fuck do they get these contestants from? Thicker than thickest thick thing you can think of. Denser than the densest dense thing you can think of (and I say that as someone who's had a relative appear on it). Flightless bird on the New Zealand dollar coin? Penguin. Apart from Nectar, what does Homer, in his Epic poems, describe as the food of the Gods? Doughnuts. ITV have to be taking the piss surely.

Alan Garner has written another "final" novel: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2021/oct/25/alan-garner-brilliant-idea-novel-treacle-walker He also reveals how he came close to death three times - as a child. He even has a "tickling" for another great idea for a book. Doesn't sound that final yet.

I supect the shenanigans of DLT - the Hairy Cornflake himself - and other Radio 1 DJs has irreparably damaged the arse-groping market in these more enlightened times.

Mocha Lattes being served in heaven (before they get to you they will be drunk by our servers Joey and Rachel). James Michael Tyler, known worldwide as Gunther from Friends, has shut up shop. A hit for Death Impends, Salmon Mousse, An Fear Beag and Captain Chorizo. Bonuses: Death Impends plays a Red Joker - 50 Additional Points. Captain Chorizo: Pair of Queens - 10 Points; Two Pair of Queens and 9s - 15 Points - Total: 25 Additional Points. Tyler also a sub for gcreptile, who draws 5 Diamonds (again!) for 5 Points added. Those 5 points are crucial, as they now represent the difference between first and second, as gcreptile clings to a now slender lead. Leaderboard updated and will be brought forward on the next hit.

Well, if his manager says it... One of those times you hate to be right. Sweet rest Gunther, and may many Rachels fly you to your rest.

I'm guessing this is probably fake news, given not widely reported: James Michael Tyler is either very much alive or not. I'd have thought the real Mr Bright would have more followers...

thing is, this usually happens way more often to Men who's wives died, not so much the other way around Covid bubble aside, I'm not sure The Queen and Philip actually spent much time together in recent years.

Here is two photos of my great grandmother from June 2021. She's still fine, she was recently diagnosed with a tumor on her cheek (doctor seems to believe it's benign but she'll have further examination and operation in a few weeks). She's now 101 and 5 months : still walking, still reading (she has an excellent eyesight) but she's nearly deaf and has recently lost memories… She has lost her husband from lung cancer in the late 80's when she was in her 60's and her only daughter (my grandmother) from breast cancer in 2007 when she was 87. She immediately took her place in my family, being a lovely grandmother for her great-grandchildrens and a caring mother for both my mother and my aunt. I'm still impressed by how though and sweet she is, I love her very much and hope she will still be with us for some times …

My male budgie Trevor has died today aged 10. Although he had an advanced age for a budgie, he was in good health and wasn't sick or had any health problems. But I think this is the best way, instead of seeing him in declining health and deteriorating.
