5 pointsThis is a real miss for our list, because our last year's No. 36, actor Ralf Wolter, has died at age 95. He appeared in nearly 220 films and television series in his over 60 years as a character actor and is best known for his portrayal of Sam Hawkins in the Karl May films. https://www.stern.de/gesellschaft/regional/bayern/medien--schauspieler-ralf-wolter-gestorben-32815342.html

4 pointsThat's true and it's also why I'm not opposed to the idea of keeping picks like DVD and Attenborough even though they currently appear to be in fantastic health. But in Tippi Hedren's case I think her "problem" is she's the same age or one year older/younger as several other actors who are arguably more famous than her like Patricia Routledge, Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, William Shatner, Robert Duvall and probably some UK TV actors too... So if the Cmme wants to pick a new old actor who's only picked for their age I think one of the latter is more likely to appear.

4 pointsYes, Kissinger is my guess for the no. 1 spot on the 2023 DL, though as I was saying, probably not the most deserving of it, compared to Phillips, Carter and Barker.

4 pointsCaptain Lou Albano died on this day 13 years ago, aged 76. Albano was first well known for his professional wrestling career. He went pro in 1953 at the age of 20, and became a wrestling manager in 1971. Albano would continue to manage wrestlers, decreasing his role in the mid-1980s, before retiring in 1995. In 1984, Albano met Cyndi Lauper, and appeared in the music video for "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" as her father. Albano would also make an appearance in the "Time After Time" music video. Albano was also an actor, appearing in the 1986 film Wise Guys. In 1989, he received his most famous role- that as the first-ever English voice of Mario for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show (Mario's first voice was from the 1986 Japanese-exclusive film Super Mario Bros.: Peach-Hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!). Albano would also portray Mario in the live-action segments of the show that bookended the episode, opposite Danny Wells as Luigi. Albano suffered a heart attack in 2005, and then a second, fatal one four years later.

4 pointsI couldn't find a page or references to the fine biographer Claire Tomalin, who will be ninety next June, and is married to Michael Frayn. Her most recent book is a biography of the young HG Wells (published last year). All her previous biographies of authors have taken in their whole lives, and so I wondered whether that was the original plan for this book, and abandoned due to failing powers/ill health of Tomalin.

4 pointsAnd now Monsta O of the Boo-Ya T.R.I.B.E (wiki)., has died, at the age of 56. That's tree of the seven Devoux brothers dead then, and only in their 50s (52, 55 and 56). American Samoans have crap genes, so not bad DDP material.

3 pointsLiz Truss appears to sign off her letter to Kwasi Kwarteng, from Kwasi Kwarteng. She alludes to the decision “he” took to go (despite her sacking him) and that they share the same vision (the one that was the reason why she had to sack him). Iannucci has once again been out-Iannucci’d.

3 pointsI'm just not sure why we need to keep bumping a thread for this kinda stuff. We could post similar mistakes from DECADES in the past via Biden. It only gets so much attention now because of being the President + conservatives. Why does the shit I see everyday on social media belong here? Even IF he is senile or suffering from some sort of neurological disorder, you aren't proving anything one way or another with daily updates. Give us solid evidence or give us nothing IMO

2 pointsno health issues but 93. we've seen plenty of nonagenarians without any illness on the list before, some of whom were hits (As recently as this year : QEII, Godard, Estelle Harris, Sidney Poitier…)

2 pointsSatya Mohan Joshi on non-invasive ventilator/high flow oxygen, meds not working, suffers from severe pneumonia and multiple other ailments and infections, advanced heart disease, low bp and his chronic ailments. On some kind of Albumin medication. Seems like he has hokey-pokey'd into critical condition, "near-critical" and critical again during the last hours. VS Achuthanandan, Kaikala Satyanarayana and Raoni have all released some kind of statements recently, as during the last month or two, all have outlived a younger and healthier colleague. Achuthanandan mourned his home affairs minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan (1953-2022) and apparently cried, Satyanarayana's colleague Krishnam Raju (1940-2022) died. Can't remember the name of Raoni's dead friend/colleague/family member.

2 pointsRight; he should have used "because of." Those of us who are included in the bill appreciate that he doesn't consider casualties of war to just be people who died "in" the war. Basic thought that some cognitive geniuses in the Senate couldn't compute.
