Thought I'd check, given Winston Bazoomies' death seems to have gone unnoticed. Report here with a confirmation: https://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2022/12/13/gosh-its-bad-manners-and-their-xmas-bash-at-the-concorde-2/ Which also confirms that while he did appear, Bloodvessel wasn't well. "Buster said his goodbyes and said he was suffering from ill health himself, but was happy to be playing gigs again. He was on top form I must say, and long may he continue entertaining us, as he and his energetic band did tonight."

I have friends who voted no just because ownership is clearly making that paper-skinned dork miserable.

Didn't turn up for a recent gig due to ill health: https://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2022/12/13/gosh-its-bad-manners-and-their-xmas-bash-at-the-concorde-2/ "Unfortunately, their frontman Max Splodge was also ill tonight so the remaining members of the band (three members of the Bad Manners band) got onstage anyway and played some of the song’s chosen by Max, and others that the guitarist, Tom Massey enjoyed playing. They also went under the name of ‘Two Pints’ which was an obvious Splodge reference to one of their biggest hits."

So, Terry Hall's story includes being abducted to France and abused for a short while by a genuine paedo gang. Which goes a long way to explaining his leaving school without taking any exams and the political stance - i.e. on the side of the underdog the whole time - he subsequently adopted. It's amazing he went from that start to the level of nationally loved musical hero.

Great catch. All the more reason for the Committee to keep Tina in the mix and perhaps draft Phil Collins this year?

I've lost count of the Republican/T*RF related buzzwords I've had to mute for a palatable feed!

James O’Brien has been doing an hour on Terry Hall just now on LBC. It’s great to hear of the huge outpouring of love and recognition of The Specials’ positive cultural impact. Once this is finished I’m playing the living shite out of all their stuff again.

I’m not giving up on it. It has stayed level the past couple of days and fully deserves to be in it to the end.
