4 pointsWe’re on course to smash through three rounds before the 00’s No.1s finish the first, despite the games starting within 24hrs of each other.

2 pointsIt's her voice that turns me off. In places she sounds like a worn-out blackboard rubber. Sends the dog running out of the room.

2 pointsThis set of songs is not really setting me alight. If I remember the middle round of 70s No.1s was less than inspiring There are some good songs there but probably just enough to fill a top 5. Shocked that something as original as Loving You got junked so early

2 pointsJake Abraham, minor British actor, but Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels among them, has stage 4 prostate cancer: https://www.nationalworld.com/culture/television/lock-stock-and-two-smoking-barrels-jake-abraham-cancer-diagnosis-4220508 Has had it for years, probably, and it's pretty advanced. Undergoing palliative care, but that might sound more dramatic than it is, imo. Not a "weeks left" situation, but also not THAT many years left.

1 pointPeter III of Russia died on this day 261 years ago, aged 34. - Peter was German- he was born as Charles Peter Ulrich of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp, but his mother Anna was Peter the Great's daughter. - Peter's father died when he was 11, and he became the Duke of Holstein-Gottorp. In 1742, his aunt Elizabeth (now the empress of Russia) brought him to Russia to declare him her heir apparent. Swedish envoys arrived in St. Petersburg later that year to proclaim him the heir to the Swedish throne (Peter was a great-grandson of Charles XI of Sweden), but they arrived after he was named Elizabeth's successor. - In 1745, Peter married his second cousin- later known as Catherine the Great. Their marriage was unhappy, with Catherine describing Peter in her memoirs as a drunk manchild. Despite this, they had a son together- the future emperor Paul. - When Peter acceeded to the throne after Elizabeth's death in January of 1762, he immediately withdrew Russian troops from the Seven Years' War and ordered a peace treaty with Prussia. After their alliance was formed, he sent troops back there to help the Prussian attack Austria. - After a six-month reign, Peter would be ousted in a coup orchestrated by his wife. He died eight days after his ousting under mysterious circumstances.

1 pointA bit of lazy stereotyping there. There's a skill to television presenting and a bit of responsibility too. How would you have announced the Queen's death?

1 pointGuardian today reporting Huw is in contact with his long-standing mate from BBC days Jon Sopel, and has told Sopel he's not too enamoured with the way BBC has reported his recent adventures. Suggests Huw is more in the real world than the speculation brought on by his hospitalisation suggested and that he's already thinking about how to get his own interpretation of events out there. Suicide wise, then - likely nowt to see here.
