I never realised that McGowan was not only brought up in Tunbridge Wells and went to a prep school there, he also won a scholarship to Westminster School, one of the 3 poshest public schools in the country. Tim Van Galder was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1966. He was on the team in 1967. He spent two years in St. Louis before he joined the Cincinnati Bengals in 1973.
